Fri Jul 1 = After a little Walmart shopping, I drove to a Shared Branch credit union in Mechanicsville, VA to deposit the donations and T-Shirt cash I have collected from my recent shows.
- What a long day of driving. I had planned to spend a couple hours at the Washington County Library in Hagerstown, but due to the stop-and-go traffic on I-64, I-95 and I-70, I got to Hagerstown when the library was closing, so went straight to
American Legion Post 42. I ate supper in my van then hung out in one of their dining rooms, doing office stuff until my bedtime.
- I did some research about the well for my 151st Avenue properties and checked on a realtor for
Dahlia
my Phoenix rental house located on Dahlia Drive
.
- Got to bed at 11:14
Sat Jul 2 = A little before noon I got my merch unloaded and set up on a picnic table in the pavilion, holding down my fliers with some rocks.
- We had about 60 people for the show and I hooked my PA output to input of the DJ's high powered PA.
- Just as I was starting my Stick Shift (Viagra) Routine the show was ended by Howard, courtesy of a thunderstorm with some lightning and wind gusts that started blowing things all over. Heavy rain came later.
- This evenings special website project was adding a National Park Campground Reservations section to my Shops and Links webpage with
Frisco Campground, Hatteras Island, NC as the first one. Everything worked correctly on the first try :)
- Last thing, I worked on resolving my checking account for last month.
- Got to bed at 11:04
Sun Jul 3 = Since it was Sunday, on my drive from Hagerstown to Westminster, MD, I got in my religion for the week by driving on by intersections for Tom Church Road and Baptist Road.
- In Westminster, I went to Staples and made $18 worth of laminated signs to use with my chasing LED signs when shows are not "tonight" or at "7:00".
- Westminster Planet Fitness was my next stop for elliptical and a brief light full-body workout.
- What a surprise when I got to
American Legion Post 31! Hardly anyone there had heard of the comedy show for which I was scheduled on Tuesday (day after tomorrow) and there was not a single poster about the post, although I had my publicity kit for the post delivered on June 21st. I think the post dropped the ball. The show was announced on their FaceBook page and included on the TV sign in the post, but evidently no one looked at those things. At their request, I sent their posters to alternate email addresses.
- Also they moved the show from the hall to the lounge without consulting me. I am going to see if we can get it back upstairs in the hall, as we originally planned.
- Got to bed by the front of the post at 10:12 with morning shade until 9:30 :)
Mon Jul 4 = It wasn't necessarily smart, but I felt good anyway. At my 3am pee I spent 30 minutes mapping out my 2023 tour with approximate dates for various states.
- From my van in the parking lot of
American Legion Post 31 I was able to receive marginal Internet for my phone but not good enough for my computer to be of much use.
- I got away about 10:30 and went to an Anytime Fitness, parking in as much shade as possible, to update this blog and to add "Thu Jul 7, 2022; 7:00pm;
The Stables; 452 E Main St; Westminister, MD 21157 - Open Mic" to my Comedy Home webpage and to my calendar, do a 23-minute medium full-body workout and take a short shower.
- I filled up with gas at a CITGO transfer station after checking that gas is generally cheaper here than in the Baltimore area on the way to my show in Chesapeake Chesapeake Beach, MD.
- The post still has none of my posters up for tomorrow's show.
- For the first time in about 18 years, I watched a fireworks show; tonight from the Carroll County Farm Museum. I took my giant beach towel to sit on. Next time, maybe in another 18 years, I'll also take a pillow, ear plugs and a flashlight.
- After the show, traffic was so bad with pedestrians, autos etc. that I took a 40 minute nap in my van before heading to Post 31 for the night in their parking lot with no traffic at all.
- Got to bed at 11:37 (equal to 10:57 with the nap)
Tue Jul 5 = During the night I changed my attitude about this American Legion Post, from negative (wondering why they did not put up any of my posters, why they did not keep the show in the hall, etc) and decided the whole thing would be an adventure and a learning experience.
- Finally, today, the day of the show, they put out some 8.5x11 posters at the bar.
- Adrian, my contact, met me at 1:00 and set up things for the show to be in the lounge (bar).
- The 65-minute show turned out OK with a total audience count of 30. Typical military style, they were mostly amused, didn't laugh a lot but had a few bursts of spontaneous uncontrolled laughter.
- I got everything loaded up and appreciated their shady spot for the night.
- Got to bed at 10:55
Wed Jul 6 = I'm not the fastest guy around. This morning it took me about two hours to make a new flier, put it up on my website and make 8-up versions to pass out publicizing tomorrow's Open Mic at
The Stables.
- Nest stop was Staples, to make 96 little fliers for The Stables. I learned that Staples' self-service copies are now shockingly expensive. Next time I'll try a library or an Office Max.
- I drove to The Stables. They were not interested in my little fliers. I understood, as they have their own publicity going for the Open Mic.
- Then for a brief heavy arms workout at Planet Fitness and to the
American Legion Post 31 for my last night in their parking lot.
- Got to bed at 11:20
Thu Jul 7 = This morning I explored the Westminster Town Mall, searching for Dick's Sporting Goods and a camp mirror. Found Dick's but not the mirror.
- Also I bought bread and a few other things at an Aldi, did a brief heavy arms workout at Planet Fitness and got this new fan there:
- For the first time, someone saw the magnetic signs on my van parked outside a library, went into the library and asked the staff about the comedian and had a library lady bring him over to where I was working and introduce us.
- Lippy, the producer of the Stables Open Mic let me open the show and gave me up to an hour! It was a typical bar crowd with some people listening some of the time. I closed my portion of the show after 39 minutes when no one seemed to be listening.
- Interestingly a number of the people there told me they liked the show. One guy gave me a lead for the Veterans Service Center, 95 Carroll St; Westminster, MD.
- After I got everything wrapped up from the show I drove 17 miles down to the Sykesville, MD Walmart. When I was settled in for the night I realized that I had left my blue plaid shirt laying on the stage up at Stables where I had ripped it off at the beginning of my set :(
- Got to bed at 10:44
Fri Jul 8 = Backtracking to Westminster was the first thing I did this morning after breakfast. Since I had some time there before The Stables opened for me to pick up my shirt, I stopped by the Veterans Service Center and gave my card to the delightful ladies there.
- Then on to the
American Legion Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach, MD for the show.
- The 31 guests enjoyed the show.
Tonya, Dana, Janet, Jozy, Lou, Patti, Stephanie; American Legion Post 206; Chesapeake Beach, MD; 7/8/2022
- After the show, it seemed like it took me forever to get everything wrapped up and packed into my van.
- It took even longer for me to situate my van to the west of some trees for morning shade with four long extension cords stretched out for power for the night.
- Shade was sort of a moot point because it was overcast and drizzled all night and most of the next day.
- Got to bed at 12:47am :(
Sat Jul 9 = Tonight's show in Stevensville, MD was a good one, for a bar. Commander, Jason, was ignored by some of the loud talkers. The audience of 93 put my total audience count over 35,000.
- After the show I set up my computer in the hall at a table near my merchandise and worked away on my blog and fan web page. Several people wandered by on the way to the restroom, bought a T-Shirt and got their picture with me for my Fan Webpage.
- The total audience count of 93 put my total stand up comedy audience count to over 35,100! Also I got some new fans:
Diane Tydings; American Legion Post 278; Stevensville, MD; 7/9/2022
Denese Hase, Michelle Thomas; American Legion Post 278; Stevensville, MD; 7/9/2022
- Got to bed at 12:47 with perfect shade from some trees and 50A power for my lettle refrig.
Sun Jul 10 = I drove to Frederick MD and the AMVETS Post 2. Since they were having a slow day, they wanted to switch the show to the bar. I decided to go ahead and have it in the hall, especially after last night's bar show. Also, in the hall, there was a TV for my video segment.
- The show went pretty well with an audience of 15.
- During the afternoon and evening I had my refrigerator plugged into an outlet on the outside of the post so my "house" battery had enough energy to run the refrigerator for the night since there was no outlet near the east side of their parking lot where there would be shade in the morning.
- The interesting thing for the night was AMTRAK about 100 feet from my overnight parking spot. I did not realize that until the trains started running about 5am.
- Got to bed at 10:38
Mon Jul 11 = - My comedian friend, Johnny Moss passed away today in Arizona. He did not suffer and was surrounded by his family and a lot of comedians and other friends. Of course I had to add what he said to my LOUisms, "If I knew dying would be this fun, I would have done this a long time ago."
- At the Delmar, DE Library, among other things, I
- Tonight's comedy was sharing sets and laughing a lot with a group of five local comedians:
Dan Bell, who ran the show in a little space which may become his comedy club in the future
Tom Sherman, Dan's partner
Paula Sangeleer, local radio personality
Lon Kleffer, bought T-Shirts for everyone, setting a record number of shirts per capita, with Delmar's population of 2,153
Mike Moeller, photographer
- Got to bed at 10:22, parked on the street outside Dan's "comedy location," plugged into power with his extension cord :) At 5:30am I reparked my van to the west side of the building where there would be morning shade.
Tue Jul 12 = I spent much of today at the Delmar Library. I got a lot done, but not nearly as much as I had on my list (What else is new).
- Annie Hearn, producer of WBOC TV's Delmarva Life phoned me and arranged for me to be on the show tomorrow; thanks to Paula Sangeleer.
- Today Google sent me this map of the places I went on my travels during June, 2022:
- After the library closed I ate supper and then parked to the west of Dan's building on Pennsylvania Ave in Delmar with power, courtesy of Dan.
- Before going to bed I fired up my computer in the van and organized and worked on my interview and comedy set for tomorrow's TV show.
- Got to bed at 10:37, later than I wanted, considering I need to get to the TV station tomorrow morning.
Wed Jul 13 = What an excellent day! This morning I drove to the studios of WBOC TV in Salisbury MD for the 9:30 am "taping" of Delmarva Life a 5pm show about what's happening on the Delmarva Peninsula. The Delmarva Peninsula, or simply Delmarva, is a large peninsula on the East Coast of the United States, occupied by the vast majority of the state of Delaware and parts of the Eastern Shore regions of Maryland and Virginia. The peninsula is 170 miles long
- It was fun bantering with the hosts, Jimmy Hoppa and Lisa Bryant. They "taped" my portion of the show first, which included me opening the show with their old traditional, "... It's Showtime!," them interviewing me and a three-minute comedy set. Also, I got Paula Sangleer, on air radio personality on 93.5, The Beach as my 268th fan:
- After recording my part, I headed to the local Planet Fitness for a brief heavy slow legs workout,
poster trim
weekly trimming of my beard, eye brows and little quiff so I match my poster photos
and a shower. Then on to Anne's in Sunderland MD to visit her and the girls. Robby is in Arizona at this time.
- We played a new easy, complicated, fun game, Here to Slay.
- Too late in the evening, I put in my small load of laundry. By the time the drier got through it was pretty late.
- Got to bed at 12:00am, planning a nap for tomorrow.
Thu Jul 14 = I had to get up before a full night's sleep to go shopping with Katie and Brook to meet Anne at the Spot Thrift Store in Saint Leonard, MD. It was a neat, well-organized store in sort of an old house.
Today was the first time I rode with a grandchild driving. Katie did the honors.
- I got to meet Katie's friend Amber: quite a gal with a good creative sense of humor.
- We hung out, visited and watched the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
- It has worked well, spending the nights here in my minivan under the shade of a tree for morning and afternoon shade and plugged into power. I get to sleep in my own bed that way.
- Got to bed at 11:09
Fri Jul 15 = This morning at Anne's house I paid my bills and then hung out. I got to meet Brooke's friend Asha and got my first furry fan, Bromley. He followed me around and hung out with me in the office when I was working on my computer.
Bromley "Hanovich" their new Australian-bread Labradoodle puppy
- After refilling my van's 6 gallon running water tank, I headed out to Easton, MD on the Delmarva Peninsula. It was a long, rather slow drive, especially approaching the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I got to
VFW Post 5118 about 6pm; enough time to set my merch and cameras (with the help of Mike and Paul) but not enough time to eat supper.
- It was one of the best shows that I have ever had in a bar with an audience of 49. They pretty much listened and did some laughing.
- For the second time, I used the black screens previous to starting and after ending my video segment, with the TV and my
The little 10" Windows 10 computer I bought to get me by in Tobago in 2017 after my Dell laptop died. It's tight, with only 2gb RAM and a 32gb SSD hard drive, but the 128gb micro SD card I have in it helps a little.
already on. That way all I had to do is to press the right arrow and things instantly show up on the TV.
- After I got everything packed up and loaded from the show, I parked to the west of the post's building with power to my refrigerator and shade 'til 11am tomorrow :) and had my supper about 10:30pm :(
- Got to bed at 11:11
Sat Jul 16 = This morning I drove the 20 miles to Denton, MD. First stop was the local YMCA for a brief heavy slow arms workout and the Goodwill next door where I found a six-foot computer power cord to use with my van's refrigerator and a mini USB cord to use with my Garmin GPSs, my dash cam and my old Sony ICD-PX312 voice recorder. I had searched far and wide in about three states and found neither cord.
- Then on to the
American Legion Post 29 there in Denton where I got a welcome reception and hung out until about bedtime.
- I decided to make the three-minute drive to the Denton Walmart for the night, since I would have shade from the building in the morning. On both the south and west sides of the store they have 16 containers. Wonder what they are storing. There was one parking spot for me where I had 100% shade until 10:30am, although I did have to run my little refrigerator on
Sun Jul 17 = This morning I ran from my shady spot west of the Walmart .2 miles into the store for some shopping and back. Then stopped by the YMCA for a brief heavy slow torso workout. Then on to the post where I will be doing Friday's show.
- I spent much of the rest of the day at AL Post 29, working on web stuff inside while my van was outside under some trees plugged into the outlet on the post by their pavilion. It took two of my 50' extension cords to accomplish that.
- Excellent people!
- After they closed at 8pm, I continued working in my van - resolving my checking account - sort of. About 9pm I prepared for bed, except kept my clothes on to drive to Walmart to buy some turkey lunchmeat and then to the west of their building for the night.
- Got to bed at 10:15
did a low voltage disconnect so I idled my engine while I planned the rest of the day.
- I started today's trip at Walmart to buy broccoli, got gas at an Exon in town and went to the YMCA for brief light fast legs and arms workouts, then spent an hour or so there charging my Kindle and updating this blog. I also looked at some new images from the JWT (James Webb Telescope), looked at the new Galaxy Fold cell phone and figured out how to unfriend some cheesey people on Facebook.
- Last night Jack at the post said that I might want to stop by the VFW Post 5246 aout 20 miles south of this post in Federalsburg, MD, so I drove down and met Billy Ray who phoned Joe Pender, the commander, and let me talk to him about possibly doing a show for them between now and Wednesday the 27th.
- I was proud of myself for being so smart after I was unbelieveably stupid. My dash cam lost its source of power this morning so I started usng the power cord I had been using for my Garmin GPS, figuring that I could use my phone for navigation and that the dash cam was a higher priority.
- All that was stupid because it only took two seconds for me to reseat the cigarette lighter plug behind the rear view mirror that supplies power to the dash cam.
- Back at
American Legion Post 29, and with the help of
BadSlava, I located two open mics on my way to Cleveland, in Baltimore and Pitsburgh.
- I must be livin' right. We had received some heavy rain in the evening and they closed the bar a little before nine. When we went outside to our vehicles there was plenty of lightning and thunder but no rain. I went to my van. Just as the sliding door closed rain started. In my van I added, to my tour schedule, what I could, without Internet, of the two new open mics in Baltimore, MD and McKees Rocks (Pittsburgh), PA.
- Since it was forcast to be cloudy tonight, my strategy was to spend the night at the post where it would be very quiet and dark and I was plugged into power, having clouds in the morning to keep my van from heating up.
- When I got up to pee at 6:20am it was NOT cloudy and obvious that I needed to change my strategy, so I drove about a mile north to my shady spot on the west side of the Walmart. The whole process took about 25 minutes so I adjusted my alarm accordingly.
- Got to bed at 10:15
Tue Jul 19 = I had a pretty-much routine day, waiting for my Friday show here in Denton, MD.
- The morning started in the shade of the Walmart building for breakfast and organizing my day and a little Walmart shopping until about 10:30am.
- The nearby YMCA was my next stop (trying to park in the shade of a little tree) where I did a workout, poo and spent a couple hours on my computer working on website, comedy and financial stuff and taking time for lunch in my van around noon.
- Mid to late afternoon I drove to the
American Legion Post 29, parked in the afternoon shade of some of their trees, plugged my refrigerator
into their 110V power, went into the post, socialized some and worked some more in my "office."
- It was the post's Tuesday Bingo night so I did a short, about three-minute set, telling the Bingoers about the show.
- When the post closed I went out to my van and worked on off-line office stuff until bedtime.
- Still at the post and plugged into their power, I checked the overnight forecast, prepared my van and me for bed and then drove up to my shady spot on the west side of the Walmart building.
- Got to bed at 10:38
Wed Jul 20 = Another routine day here in Denton (see yesterday).
- Got to bed at 10:51
Thu Jul 21 = This morning's big project was the result of what I thought of last night.
- Background: Running my refrigerator by external power (as from the post) saves using my
"house battery" so much, but it is still necessary to idle the van's engine to charge the "house battery" for the night.
- Why not reconfigure things so the external power can also charge the "house battery" with the little Granite battery charger I brought with me. I will never have to worry about the
overcharging (which can be dangerous) because the Granite charger topps out at about 14.2 volts because it is designed for lead-acid batteries.
- The project took over an hour and involved digging through things to access the LiFeMnPO, connecting the Granite cable to it and rearranging everything back.
- Next was the YMCA for a workout and to update my website.
- This afternoon I found out that the new LiFeMnPO system works just fine.
- I met Dave Baker, in charge of entertainment at
American Legion Post 29, and got everything set up for the show, including the tables, his excellent PA system with my mic stand, my merchandise and all four of my cameras.
- In the post lounge I planned my route to Baltimore, MD, with stops at a library, Walmart for the nights, LA Fitness, a Shared Branch credit union to depost T-Shirt cash and St Mary's Jamaican Restaurant for their open mic on Monday.
- This evening I worked on my comedy set for tomorrow evening's show. I decided what items to cut out because I expect to have less than my usual hour after the host, Ryan, and openers, Chris and John. I plan to skip three topics completely and cut out some of the weaker punch lines for others. Now I am getting excited about the show.
- before bedtime I drove to Walmart for a little shopping and then to my favorite night spot, west of their building by their containers.
- Got to bed at 11:17
Fri Jul 22 = After breakfast I went to
American Legion Post 29 to work out some final details with Dave Baker and put up my chasing LED signs. He had done an awesome job on publicity, including making this poster:
- In the post lounge I updated my website and resolved my checking account. The account was was off the same small amount as last month.
- Tonight's comedy show was good with 10 minutes each by the host and the two opening comedians.
Britney Nolis, Chris Pierce (opened for Lou), Jessica Grymes, Ryan Grymes (show host), Lou, John Dayton (also opened for Lou); American Legion Post 29; Denton, MD; 7/22/22
- I skipped some of my topics and abbreviated others to fit my time into 40 minutes.
- Drove to the Denton Walmart for my last night there.
- Got to bed at 11:27
Sat Jul 23 = Before heading for the Baltimore area I refolded the comforter I sleep on (inside out so it will wear evenly). I also had to go into Walmart with my computer to re-send to my cell phone, my Google Map with stops for the next few days. I don't quite understand how it works and Google Maps on my phone did not have the same maps that I had uploaded yesterday.
- I stopped at Severn, MD, which is about a half hour before Baltimore. I arrived at the Severn Anne Arundel County Public Library in time for an early lunch and stayed there until they closed at 5, mostly having them try to figure out how to do my legal-sized printouts (unsuccessfully) and my show slips.
- Next stop was the Office Depot in Glen Burnie, MD to cut the 6-up show slips since the library had no paper cutter to use..
- I arrived at the Severn Walmart for the night in the morning shade of a couple of beautiful trees. Since the Severn Library would not let me use ftp to update my website I holed up in the lawn and garden department at Walmart, where there was an outliet, to take care of my website.
- Got to bed at 10:45
Sun Jul 24 = Because libraries are closed, Sundays tend to be boring days if I have no show scheduled.
- After breakfast I drove all the way to downtown Baltimore to
St Mary's Jamaican Restaurant where Leroy the Jamaican manager, let me put up my colored LED sign announcing tomorrow's open mic comedy show.
- It was not easy, but I did pretty well finding shady places for parking my van during the day.
- At the Rosendale, MD Planet Fitness I did a light legs workout, updated my website and got these three new fans:
Austin Laubach & Amir Barker; Planet Fitness; Rosedale, MD; 7/24/22
- Spent the night at the Rosendale, MD Walmart after getting a new fan there:
Samuel Martinez; Walmart; Rosedale, MD; 7/24/22
- Got to bed at 10:18
Mon Jul 25 = A conference room at the Rosedale Library was my office for several hours. My main accomplishment was to phone Square and regain access to my account.
- The Planet Fitness I went to after the library closed, was not in the best part of Baltimore - especially the only place with shade where I parked my van. I was relieved, after my light arms workout, to find my van still there and intact.
- The Above The Bar Comedy open mic at
St Mary's Jamaican Restaurant was typical, with about six regular people laughing, but not the comedians. Good bunch of people.
- Since it was my treat night, I got a delicious piece of their carrot cake, which I am sure was full of calories with its cream cheese frosting.
- I spent the night at the Catonsville MD Walmart west of Baltimore, south of I-70 to be ready to take off in the morning.
- Got to bed at 11:29
Tue Jul 26 = After breakfast, driving to the Sto-Rox Public Library in McKees Rocks PA, I stopped by a Rite Aid Drug Store to find what would be involved in getting my second COVID-19 booster vaccine. I ended up getting the vaccine since my next comedy isn't until Fri Jul 29, 2022; 9:00pm at
Parkway Theater; 644 Broadway Ave; McKees Rocks, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia.
- The big project at the library was to figure out how to print out 10 of my latest show slips with the backs rotated. It was fun straining brains with the librarian, figuring out their quirky printer.
- There at the library Gina Beavers bought one of my T-Shirts and became my latest fan.
- After the library closed, I drove all the way down to the Walmart in Bethel Parks PA for an overcast night with a little rain toward morning.
- Got to bed at 10:43
Wed Jul 27 = The only result of yesterday's second COVID-19 booster show was a somewhat sore arm and a little tiredness, which seems to be normal for me anyway on a daily basis.
- I spent most of the day at the Bethel Park Library which supports ftp protocol, so was able to easily update my website.
- After the library closed at 8pm I drove up to the Planet fitness for elyptical, light torso and heavy legs workouts, a
poster trim
weekly trimming of my beard, eye brows and little quiff so I match my poster photos
and shower.
- Spent the night, as usual, at the Walmart here in Bethel Parks PA.
- Got to bed at 10:16
Thu Jul 28 = The Bethel Park Walmart has only dry food, so I did my little bit of produce shopping at the Giant Eagle next door. Neither place had a water refill station but the nice guy in the Walmart nursery department helped me refill my van's running water supply "tank" from his plant watering hose.
- I want to analyze each post on this tour for post support, audience size and audience laughing as well as making general notes. I figure it will take me 10 hours if I spend 5 minutes for each post. I got a start by analyzing the shows at 15 posts through Acworth GA on May 6th, 2022.
- For my Kindle, I bought Atomic Habits by James Clear but the book never arried.
- I planned my route and stops for the next week
- Spent the night, as usual, at the Walmart here in Bethel Parks PA with my alarm set late in an attempt to bank some sleep for tomorrow's 9pm comedy show.
- Got to bed at 10:45
- Got to bed at 10:16
Fri Jul 29 = Still in my van this morning, I phoned two TV stations in Wichita. Jennifer at KAKE, the ABC affiliate, scheduled me for the second segment on their daily 9:00 am show :)
Tue Aug 2, 2022; 9:00am;
Good Morning KAKEland; KAKE TV 12; Wichita, KS
- I got to the library a little before noon so had an early lunch in my van before going in.
- Shane at the library showed me their 3-D printers, some of the things and mistakes they have made and gave me a sample.
- I made some other phone calls, updated my website and downloaded some Clark Howard Podcasts.
- Since the library closed at 5pm I had time for an elliptical and a heavy torso workout at Planet Fitness before getting gas and heading up to McKees Rocks for:
9:00pm;
Parkway Theater; 644 Broadway Ave; McKees Rocks, PA 15136 - Open Mic
- Aaron, the owner let me put out my little merch suitcase display. He and the local comedians were very supportive. I sold one T.
- After the show I drove about 30 minutes to western Pittsburgh for the night, on my way to Ohio for tomorrow's show.
- Got to bed at 11:03
Sat Jul 30 = This morning and into the afternoon was all about driving to Cleveland.
- I arrived at the VFW Post and met Mike, the canteen manager. He set up the room for comedy with a bunch of round tables. It turned out we had an audience of six; just right for one table at the front. They laughed their sox off for 68 minutes. It was a fun "crowd" and I got good recordings.
- They bought a number of T-Shirts, an album and gave some generous donations and tips. Mike was very helpful with my pack-up and load-up.
- Not too bad for my last full-length show of the tour.
- I drove down to the Wadsworth, OH Walmart for the night, on my way to Wichita Kansas.
- Got to bed at 10:25
Sun Jul 31 = Driving! Driving! Driving! - all the way to the O'Fallon, MO Walmart.
- I spent about an hour with my van in the "office mode" updating this blog and adding my new fans.
- I used the Walmart wifi to upload the files to my website because I had no Internet with my tethered phone.
- Got to bed at 10:37
- According to Google, here are the places I went on my travels during July, 2022:
