Sat Jan 1 = HAPPY NEW YEAR!
- After measuring the terminals and exploring several possibilities, I ordered these terminal boots (first image) to use on the solenoid (second image) that will control the charging of my van's LiFeMnPO house battery (third image).

- This afternoon I stood in the hallway in front of my Cessna 172 G1000 poster and went through the checklists with my kneeboard notes, from start-up to take-off.
- Just to see what happens, I sent emails or messages to Blue Origin, SpaceX and Virgin Galactic.
- With some time on my hands, I dug out the old OBD code scanner I bought about 11 years ago. I updated its software and checked my
Kia
Lou's 2020 Kia Sedona minivan configured as a mini-motorhome that he drives and where he lives during his road tours
as a baseline before I install the new charging control system. There were no codes and everything was perfect.

- Since there was a freeze forecast for tonight, just before sliding into my bedtime routine, I set my Ambient Weather WX WS-091-C thermometer alarm for the back yard sensor for 29° F. If it goes off, I'll get up in the middle of the night and cover my Natal Plums in the front yard - burr! (I lucked out, with a low of 31.8° F - only a light frost. Hope the Natal Plums did OK).
- Got to bed at 10:05 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Sun Jan 2 = Unexpected concnquences are always lurking around the corner. Back on Dec 26, 2021, I changed my favicon (the little picture your browser tabs for a website) to my logo. That broke the image for the link on the desktop of my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
to my website. I depended on that image to quickly go to my website files, so this morning I fixed it. It took a little time for me to figure it all out.
- No gym today but this afternoon's big project was to change from a dark gray stool and logo to a black one on my magnetic car signs and other places. No small feat.
- Staying with the graphics theme, I redid my business card... without glasses. I have only about a hundred of the old cards left to use up.
- It was sort of like a cascade of corrections and took way too long for me to fix: an address on the poster listing all the shows on my up and comming Colorado River Tour.
- At noon I lay in the sun with a beautiful clear blue sky and a temperature in the upper 40's.
- Great news in the van department. A little finegaling with a piece of paper in the depths of my van's engine compartment determined that spacing between a grounding bolt for the battery and a mounting bracket bolt match the spacing of the bolt holes on my solenoid.
- This evening I turned up the water heater for a hot bath and trimmed my toenails before crawling into bed, early to be ready to fly tomorrow.
- Got to bed at 9:28 :) with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Mon Jan 3 = This morning I went out to Southwest Flight Center at Scottsdale Airport and flew N1097N, a Garmin 1000 Cessna 172, for an hour with Jacob Deere. Actually, since the airport was so busy, one forth of that time was spent waiting in line to take off.
Garmin 1000
- On the way home I stopped by LA Fitness for a brief light fast arms workout and to deliver about 10 pounds of chocolate shake Gain Fast powder (I prefer chololate).
- This afternoon I tried on the medium wetsuit. Naturally it was way too big and baggy, so I arranged to return it through Kohls, which I will do on the way to the comedy show at El Charro Hipster on Wednesday.
- Got to bed at 10:01 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Tue Jan 4 = Last night and today I tried some more solutions (I found on the Internet) for updating my website through Windows File Explorer. Nothing worked.
- Just before bedtime I searched the Internet for America's Funniest Old Man and, I was #1. Down the page was James Gregory. He is FUNNY! and 4.5 years younger than me. His mouth projects like a megaphone.

- Got to bed at :) with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Wed Jan 5 = I am slowly collecting the components for charging my
LiFeMnPO
my van's Lithium/Iron/Manganese/Phosphate/Oxygen house battery
. Today the 80 Amp inline breaker arrived from Amazon.
- On the way to El Charro Hipster I stopped by LA Fitness for a 7-minute heavy slow legs workout and one of my Protein Frosties and by Walmart for a 2-pack of their 3oz Speed Stick Regular deodorants: cheaper than Dollar Tree's 1.8oz and less waste (6% vs 10%). You can never use quite all the product.
- I sort of lazied out this evening. Instead of creating a new icons list for my routine I hoped I would remember the sequence which, as usual I did not. I still did a five minutes underwear set and no one knew the difference.
- Got to bed at 10:28 :(

Thu Jan 6 = I plunked down $20 to renew my membership in The
ARA
Arizona Repeater Association (ham radio operators)
. I am not active, but it is a good organization.
- As part of my van project, this afternoon I looked up the current carrying capacity of various wire sizes, so naturally added this Wire Sizes information to my Definitions web page. Here is more information than you need to know about wire sizes in AWG and metric with sizes amps etc.
wire gauge
- This evening I returned the medium wetsuit to Amazon through Kohl's and did a
poster trim
weekly trimming of my beard, eye brows and little quiff so I match my poster photos
, sweated and relaxed in the steam room, took a shower, baked in the sauna and did a brief heavy slow arms workout at Mountainside Fitness on the way home.
- Got to bed at 10:12 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Fri Jan 7 = I am retiring these videos from my Comedy Home Page (they're still on my YouTube channel...

- Do I feel stupid! No wonder, trying to book a show, I kept getting, No route found, busy signals and hangups since before the middle of December. I had the first digit wrong and was dialing Canada instead of Florida for a Moose Lodge.
- After a brief heavy slow torso workout I stopped by the 99¢ Only Store for some bananas and invited my latest two fans to my show on Thursday the 13th.

- Tonight I ordered special sheer-type cable cutters (image below), and researched terminal crimpers after I found that I had nothing that was heavy-duty enough for the AWG 6 cable I am using for my
LiFeMnPO
my van's Lithium/Iron/Manganese/Phosphate/Oxygen house battery
charging project.

I also cleaned the copper terminals on the solenoid using paint thinner and an old tooth brush.
- Got to bed at about 10:18 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Sat Jan 8 = First thing after breakfast I ordered a Sanuke cable terminal crimper with 12 eye terminals and heat shrink (image above). It is a neat invention with a selectible die for AWG 8 6 4 2 1/0. From the reviews, it appears to be a good idea somewhat poorly implemented. I'll find out tomorrow when it arrives from Amazon.
- Late this morning, in a phone conversation with
George & Cindy
my younger brother and his wife who live in Mesa, Arizona and have a mountain place in Christopher Creek
, I learned that they were going to see Chaps at the Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert. After checking it out, I bought a ticket and joined them for the fun 4pm show, after which we had a bite to eat at The Market
- Got to bed at 10:02 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen. According to my Oura ring, I my nightly total sleep time has been averaging around 8.5 hours. That is considering my pees, juggling, lying in bed awake etc.

Sun Jan 9 = This morning I made the horrible discovery that nothing was getting through when people were sending me messages to contact@arizonalou.com. They were getting Your message wasn't delivered to contact@arizonalou.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.
- I phoned into the Leo Laporte Show, asking about focus problems using rear view cameras rather than mirrors and the safety of lithium batteries in electric cars. It was an honor to not only talk to Leo, but also his guest, Sam Abuelsamid, a nationally know auto guru.
- I purged and resorted the icons on my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
Desktop
- I spent most of the evening trying to figure out why I am not receiving any contact@arizonalou.com emails. This is my business! I explored lots of possibilities and tried lots of things. I tested the results by emailing to contact@arizonalou.com from my personal email. Nothing worked :(
- Got to bed at 9:47 :) with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Mon Jan 10 = Yea! This morning I fixed, I think, my contact@arizonalou.com email. I had to go through a special registration process on my HostGator cPanel. Thank you Karol K and codeinwp
- This afternoon I drove to Desert Ridge, the mall where I will be appearing this Thu, Jan 13, 2022 at 8:00pm at CB Live ( 21001 N Tatum Blvd; Phoenix, AZ 85050) to pass out a couple of my show tickets.
- On the way home I stopped by Mountainside Fitness for brief light fast legs and torso workouts.
- Last night I cut and crimped the 6 AWG cable for my
LiFeMnPO
my van's Lithium/Iron/Manganese/Phosphate/Oxygen house battery
.
- Tonight I wired up the solenoid control circuit to make sure my 20 gauge wire was big enough. It worked just fine. I measured the current to control the SSR (solid-state relay) at .016 amps and .65 amps for the SSR to control the solenoid.
- Got to bed at 10:04, but...
- At 11:03 I heard a crash. It was followed by a short squeal of tires. From the sound I couldn't tell if more than one vehicle was involved and figured that the squeal of tires was from a vehicle being spun around after the crash.
- I called 911 from under my covers. The operator didn't take me very seriously because I just "heard" the accident, but evidently did roll the police, because by the time I got out of bed, got some clothes on and got down to Union Hills, there were two police cars diverting traffic around the accident two blocks to the east.
- Possibly the car was heading south and tried to make a left turn onto eastbound Union Hills in front of the pickup and cut it too close. The only injury appeared to be a little blood on the face of the driver of the car.
Smashed car Pickup that smashed the car
- The take-away, since this is where I frequently turn east on Union Hills, is be patient. One of my old friends (she was 75 at the time) was killed when she was T-Boned performing a similar maneuver.

Tue Jan 11 = Today I researched state-level veterans organizations for doing my July comedy shows in Massachusetts and Marilyn. It appeasr it is going to be much easier to go with Marilyn. Also it is less of a drive from
OBX
Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks off the coast of North Carolina
where I will be spending June.
- I did a brief light fast torso workout at Anytime Fitness... except at first I forgot and did some of the exercises slow and heavy.
- Got to bed at 9:50 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Wed Jan 12 = This morning I found out that I had accidentally deleted all my contact notes for a veterans post in Georgia. It took me about 10 minutes to find the informaton in an online back up file and restore it. It always pays to back up your stuff!
- This afternoon I did a temporary functional installation to check for warm (poor) connections under full charging load, testing the new charging system for my van's House Battery. Soldering the ground wire for the SSR (solid state relay) to the bracket of the solenoid was the gnarallyest part. To do that I had to get out my honkin' big old high powered soldering iron and, ofcourse clean the tip.
- Here is the temporary installation. The blue/white/black box is the SSR (solid state Relay) that controls the solenoid (lower left); The power goes through the large (AWG 6) red cable (right center) to the breaker, to the selonoid and then (upper left) to the House Battery in the back of the van.
Test
- For the test and for today's trip, preparing for my tour I bought some chlorine bleach at Dollar Tree (I use it in the toilets while I am gone), bought a small watermellon and cantaloupe on sale and some kale at Safeway on my way to LA Fitness Moon Valley for a brief heavy slow legs workout followed by a protein frosty.
- For the House Battery. charging test, everything worked well, running my van's refrigerator on the trip. The next thing is to make the installation permanent.
- This evening I researched and ordered a Winegard FlatWave Amplified FL5500A TV antenna. It should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully it will give me TV reception, which I have not had since August.
- Got to bed at 9:59 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen. For my two Pee JUGGLING practice sessions tonight I started trying to move my catching hand down along the trajectory of the falling balls. I can accomplish that with a single-ball toss, but things happen to fast for me to do it when throwing two or three-balls.

Thu Jan 13 = This morning I resolved my checking account and found that I am not bound for a financial train wreck.
Train Wreck
- With only five shows, my Colorado River Tour is turning out to be good practice and procedures for handling all the little things for my big tour which, so far through June, '22, will be for 44 shows, and that doesn't include July, for which I will start booking.
-
- My nap this afternoon was longer than usual, anticipating tonight's comedy show.
- Here is the ticket I made by adding me and some details to their ticket, the poster they made and my new fan, JoJo Justice.

- Got to bed at 10:30. For my two Nocternal Pee JUGGLING practice sessions tonight I started slapping th balls rather than catching and tossing them. Slapping gets them in the air sooner and, when I get better at it, might get me a little closer to the three-ball cascade.

Fri Jan 14 = This morning I sent out emails to the three bilionaire rocket club members. I'll plan on doing it once a week and see if anything comes of it.
- Before I installed the new Winegard FlatWave Amplified FL5500A TV antenna this evening I decided I was going to use my old, unamplified, antenna as a baseline for reception. Both antennas are 9 x 13" rectangles, which I mount in a south-facing window.
- With my old antenna, reception was just about perfect with both the TV and my over-the-air DVR after I re-scanned for channels. The instructions for the LG 43UF6400 TV were of no help. I had to search the Internet to find how to do it, which was burried deep in the TV's sub menus. Scanning with the DVR was much easier, although it took longer.
- The embarasing part is returning the Winegard FlatWave Amplified FL5500A TV antenna. I just hope Amazon does not put me on their Bad Guy List for returing so many things.
- Got to bed at 10:00 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Sat Jan 15 = Dissappointingly, my Channelmaster DVR did not record NBC's Tonight Show last night as I thought I had it programed. Trying to solve the problem, I got both the TV and the DVR hooked up to my WiFi. The TV didn't do anything with it and the DVR's Internet was painfully slow, awkward and videos buffered half the time. I spent five minutes to watch a 30-second video. Also the Channelmaster DVR did not give me the online programming guide, although it said that it downloaded it this morning.
- I scheduled some test TV show recordings and ended up watching one of 'em, The Partridge Family.
- I have been reading Judy Carter's New Comegy Bible. I am even going to do some of her exercises.
- Got to bed at 10:13 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Sun Jan 16 = Today I paid the rest of my bills and moved my Cox Internet auto-pay to my Capital One credit card. Now I have regular uses for all five cards so the accounts will remain active without my having to worry.
- After examining some of Judy Carter's mind maps for comedy, while fixing supper, I watched Jim Gaffigan's hour long Noble Ape show, which was recorded in the Wilbur Theatre in Boston. Very interesting.
- I finally got email contracts back for all four of my March shows along the Colorado River, so this evening I created and emailed Electronic Publicity Kits to the venues. In the process, hopefully I developed a workflow that will streamline the process with the 15 shows I'll be doing on my tour in April.
- It's hard for me to make my muscles sore in the gym but today I succeeded in having sore stomach muscles from Saturday's brief heavy slow arms workout. I do abs on my arms days.
- Got to bed at 10:05 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Mon Jan 17 = At Harbor Freight, I bought a 7 Pc 3/8 inch Drive Metric Impact Swivel Socket Set that includes the 12mm swivel socket that I need for removing the battery ground bolt that is in an awkward place. I plan to use the bolt for fastening my
LiFeMnPO
my van's Lithium/Iron/Manganese/Phosphate/Oxygen house battery
charging control solenoid.
- It turns out that the bolt wouldn't budge even using the swivel with my 18" breaker bar.
- After discovering the signal strength information buried in the submenus of my Channelmaster CM-7500GB16 DVR, I spent about two hours analyzing both my old and new flat TV antennas. I could get all five of my local stations with the old antenna, but only if I reposissioned it, depending on the channel. I learned that the new powered antenna works much better when plugged into a hot electrical outlet. Now, with the new antenna, all the channels are good, and most of them are perfect.
I finished the project by scheduling the DVR to record four late night talk shows - for the comedy in the monologs.
- According to Google, during 2001 I visited 1 country, 117 cities, 608 places and traveled 18,876 miles, 13,737 of them driving.
Map
- Got to bed at about 10:03 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Tue Jan 18 = I used a phone call to catch up with
Harold and Bernadette
my EX-brother-in-law and his wife
. Harold suggested I use an impact wrench on the pesky van bolt.
- Still working to get the ground bolt loose, I tried my little 3/8" battery drill's impact feature. No dice.
- This afternoon I researched electric impact wrenches to rent. Home Depot had a 1/4" one and A-Z Rentals had a 1/2" one. I decided to go with the one from A-Z rentals, but would need an adaptor for my 3/8" socket extension. I'll check on that tomorrow.
- Got to bed at 10:13 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Wed Jan 19 = I felt really good about life today.
- Got to bed at 10:20 with Alexa's alarm set for 8:30

Thu Jan 20 = Today's project, creating an Arizona Lou Comedy Brochure, turned out to be bigger than I expected. What else is new. Since I just thought of the brochure, I may not get it emailed to the Valdosta Georgia AMVETS in time for the commander to make it available to the attendees at a big conference this weekend.
- Before starting on the flyer, I wanted to add the YouTube links and QR codes you can see on the flyer for all six videos on my Press Kit web page. Mission accomplished.
- Next came the flyer, itself. Here you can see the result:
Flyer
- This evening I got things pretty well stacked onto my 2-wheel cart for loading the van for tomorrow's comedy show. I also re-attached the van's ground wire so I can drive my van.
- Got to bed at 10:04 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Fri Jan 21 = Mostly a comedy day: This morning I got my van all loaded up with my PA system, cameras, T-Shirts etc. and after lunch drove down to Chandler for the 3pm show, produced by Austin Roccia at The Village at Ocotillo retirement home.
- The somewhat reserved audience seemed to enjoy the show with us four comedians: Austin, Zac Allen, Savannah Hernandez and me. The show was in a lounge area where the audience of 43 was spread out on couches and at tables. Of course there was a big post in the middle. If we do it again, it will probably be in their little theater, more condusive to a comedy show.
- On the way home I stopped by two Ace Hardware stores to find a 8mm/1.25 bolt and 3mm hex wrench that I needed for my
LiFeMnPO
my van's Lithium/Iron/Manganese/Phosphate/Oxygen house battery
project.
- To educate myself about the nuts and bots of the situation I found this chart.
boltsizepitch bolt thread measurent points
Now I understand bolts, sizes and their threads better than ever before. So I won't have to hunt it up again, I put it here on my Definitions web page.
- Got to bed at 10:35 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Sat Jan 22 = I think I rode my exercycle too hard this morning because I had a headache most of the day and evening - no fever though. I took it a little easier yesterday and should have today.
- The Kindle, that I read when I pee, has gotten extremely slow and won't do anything until I touch [Close] in a pop-up box that says Application Error The selected application could not be started. Please try again.
- This afternoon and evening I got my
LiFeMnPO
my van's Lithium/Iron/Manganese/Phosphate/Oxygen house battery
charging system fully installed and operational.
- Along the way I spent a lot of extra time with little benefit tucking the solenoid down on the finder where it is very hard to get to, but generally out of sight to the casual hood popper. Getting it mounted took a lot of diddling in small places. Due to the van battery's proximity, it turns out that I was unable to use the ground cable bolt, which I went to a LOT of trouble to try and use. It would not have allowed space for one of the solenoid power terminals. If there is a next time, I'll make a bracket and mount the solenoid where it is easily accessible... and more visible.
- I checked out my work by driving to Fry's for some fresh spinach and Romaine lettuce. With the LiFeMnPO I didn't get as high of a charge amperage or voltage as I expected, so hope it keeps the LiFeMnPO charged on my trips. I'll find out on my mini-tour to western Arizona in March.
- This evening I added QR codes to the six videos on my website's Press Kit.
- I revised my brochure (see Jan 20) so it can double as a single sheet or a tri-fold. I even added dotted fold lines to the front and the back.
- Got to bed at 9:45pm :) with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Sun Jan 23 = This morning I took it a little easier on my exercycle, feeling a little low on energy and with a little headache.
- Of course I can make a big project out of a little one - especially when it is not intuitive - like correcting the day and time on my Honeywell-CT3697 house thermostat. All it took was a little research with my PDF instruction book, pressing some buttons and revising my notes for the thermostat.
- Still in the techie/programing realm, I reviewed the instructions and my notes for the Dig controller, which automates my drip irrigation valve, needs no battery because it operates from ambient solarlight. (INSTRUCTIONS).
Dig Solar Drip Controller Dig Solar Drip Controller screen
- At solar noon I lay out in the sun - doesn't help much with the low energy, but does give me more vitamin D... and keeps my tan.
- Got to bed at 10:06 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Mon Jan 24 = I added to my brochure arsonel (see Jan 20) with a version to send by email, with links instead of QR codes..
- Booking was on the ajenda today, having opened up my July schedule. I plan to give date priority to the venues where I have done shows previously.
- I topped off my evening schedule with a brief heavy slow torso workout at Planet Fitness.
- Got to bed at 10:58 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Tue Jan 25 = After feeling a little low on energy for a couple of days, I am gradually working my way up to my normal vigorous morning 2-minute exercycle ride.
- I received a text this morning inviting me to sign up for Thursdays open mic at Improv Mania. I already had, twice: once using my comedy email and once using my private email. Just in case they were texting me because they did not receive the first signups, I did it again... this time on my phone.
- I have a new neighbor under the auspices of
Duet
The organization I support and through which I take non-driving seniors shopping and to their doctors' appointments
. I will be helping Toni with her Windows PC.
- Got to bed at 9:54 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Wed Jan 26 = For comedy bookings, I found and corrected about four date and other errors in my Bookings database and sent out email contracts for all 14 of the April shows on my tour. I got only one returned due my misspelling of the email address.
- American Legion Post 336 in Hardy AL is on the ball. They replied agreement to the contract in three hours. I wish every post I deal with was like that.
- On my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
, three days ago I noticed the trackpad popping up a little because the battery was bulging. Not a good or safe situation. Yesterday I ordered a new Swealeer after-market battery from Amazon. It arrived today.
- Before installing the battery I backed up my files with EaseUS. This evening I got the battery installed and left it charging overnight.
- Got to bed at 10:7 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Thu Jan 27 = At solar noon I lay in the sun.
- This afternoon, to further calibrate the battery for my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
, I ran it down until the computer did a low-battery shutdown. Good news: That took 5:13 hours. After that, when I repowered the computer, it did not recognize that there was a battery: bad news.
- Tonight's open mic was at Improv Mania ; Chandler, a 40 mile drive.
- I would have arrived early, as I had planned, if I had taken the 101 freeway instead of the 51/I-10 freeways. Due to an I-10 accident the traffic was stop n creap for several miles. I arrived about 7:10pm for the 7pm show... and I was scheduled to be the first comedian after Mike, the host. He put me up right away so I was second or third. Thanks, Mike!
- For my set I did my revised Basic Economy.
- I stayed for a couple more comedians after my set, sneaked out, drove down for a brief heavy slow arms workout at the Chandler Planet Fitness, stopped by Walmart for an 8 GB USB drive to use as a boot drive for my computer (the smallest they had was 16 GB), then sneaked back into Improv Mania to watch a couple more comedians, pack up my T-Shirt display and drive home.
- At home my challenge was to get my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
to recognize its new battery. I wanted to do this soon because it is not good for batteries to remain in a discharged state. No success but it made late to bed.
- Got to bed at 11:20 :(

Fri Jan 28 = This afternoon I met my new
Duet

neighbor and helped her with the computer that her grandson set up for her. We were blocked access because she could not remember her password due to a head injury. Nothing she and I tried worked. She phoned her grandson in South Carolina and he had no idea of what her password was.
- This evening I went to the CB Live Comedy Club to see Adam Ferrara, nationally known actor and comedian. While he was back at the sound booth before the show, I welcomed him to Phoenix, asked him if he ever did charity work, told him about my Veterans Appreciation National Tour and gave him one of my microposters. His show was good. He did lots of fun act outs of audience members, other people, animals and even viruses. He included some some audience work, asking what they did and figuring fun relationships with other audience members and callbacks.
- Got to bed at 10:10

Sat Jan 29 = On a Leo Laporte podcast I was listening to this morning, he mentioned Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande. After reading part of a sample on my computer, I bought the book - a little expensive, I thought, at $10.99.
- I needed to cycle my newly installed
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
battery, so killed two birds with one stone by using programs that use a lot of computer power. I I produced two shows audio and video. This one, from Jan 13, which I also uploaded to YouTube and my set from the retirement home, The Village at Ocotillo on Jan 20th.

- Got to bed at 10:00 with Alexa's daily alarm set for 7:47 and my Sangean radio set to automatically turn on the news at 8:00 in the kitchen.

Sun Jan 30 = Most of the night and all today today I had a headache and a slight fever, topping out at 99.4° F
- At least I made an impression! Jessica from Adam Ferrara's office replied to my email, saying, "Adam mentioned he met you at CB Live" and that she'll keep my tour schedule and let me know if Adam will be in the cities when I will be.
- I spent most of today contacting the veterans posts which have not replied to the contract emails for their April shows, which I sent to them on Wednesday.
- While I was doing emails, I sent emails to SpaceX, Blue Horizon and Virgin Galactic.
- This evening I made a Windows 10 64-bit USB recovery drive. Now to figure out how to use it before Friday when I go over to help Toni with her computer.
- Got to bed early, at 9:30 to get over feeling a little punk.

Mon Jan 31 No exercycle for me this morning and no sun at noon - not enough energy.
- Working on getting my energy back, I took nap in morning and another one in the afternoon
- I mustered enough energy to make my shopping list. It was mostly a necessity, considering I was running out of stuff like bananas, grapefruit, spinach and raisins.
- I wasn't sure how I would do on the shopping trip. Just to be sure, I wore a mask. It felt good running into the stores - literally. I needed some exercise and a little impact is always good for the bone density. I actually felt pretty good for the entire trip.
