Mon Mar 1 = This morning I kept
Cindy
my younger brother George's wife
company on the phone during her mandatory hour in bed after her eye surgery on Thursday.
- At noon, I tried to sign up for the Stir Crazy open mic in Glendale. I clicked on the sign-up link every ten seconds and at 12:00 I got the sign-up form but got, Sorry, the spots for the open mic are now filled. You are welcome to come to the show and be on stand by in case of no show.
- A VIAGRA-selling pharmacy has been the result, for the last few weeks, of people clicking on the link to my website after searching the Internet for Arizona Lou, AZ Lou, America's Favorite Old Man, Arizona Kiteboarder etc. My web host, Godaddy had a $650 solution. I phoned Leo LaPorte, the Tech Guy and was caller #1 for the day. Leo gave me some solution ideas, including suggesting I change host. As a result of my call-in, two guys emailed me with more ideas. It turned out the solution was to, on the Internet, delete .htaccess, a rogue file that Godaddy's lax security let someone put on my host directory. I also changed my password and set up two-factor authorization. I am considering switching from Godaddy to some other host.
- Tonight I did a full-show run through, recording it with one
ICD
little stereo Sony ICD-UX560 voice recorder that I use for taking notes and for recording the audio of all my comedy appearances
while taking notes with my other ICD. It took me 1:13 hours, including my opening but not the video part. That is about the right time. I did notice I sort of ran out of steam toward the last. I'll have to work on that.
- Got to bed at 11:00 :(

Tue Mar 2 = It took too long for me to check, resize and redo it, but I changed my picture at the top of all my web pages
from: Lou Low Resolution to: Lou Low Resolution Do you like the change?
- This morning I paid my six-month property taxes - over $2k!
- After lunch I cut my hairs (gave myself a haircut), took a bath and saw Dr. Travis Lamb, my dermatologist. Or, rather, he saw me. Found nothing of concern. At my request he did freeze a 2mm wart-type thing that has been on the left front of my torso for years.
- This evening I sneaked out to Fry's for some needed groceries and a free jar of their peanut butter.
- Got to bed at 10:21

Wed Mar 3 = All of my 8GB Album #1 1.3 hour USB drives are malfunctioning. They are unusable because none of them play the videos properly. I am surely glad I found this out before selling them. This morning I did a full format of all 11 of them. With some drives it took two or three tries to get it done. Two of the drives never would format. What a time-consuming mess.
- Good news is that all of my 2.8 hour Album #2 drives checked out OK.
- In the middle of the night, last night, I thought of a new thing for my T-Shirts. Since I am putting in a new order, why not allow my comedian friends to order Arizona Lou Shirts the way they want them, as a different color, style of shirt or logo location. Today I spent some time researching the idea and called my supplier.
- At El Charro Hipster this evening, I presented my special-order T-shirt idea and sold four customized shirts. I did my Viagra routine.
- On the way home I did my semi-monthly grocery shopping at Winco Foods.
- Before going to bed I decided that I should start my 8GB Album #1 1.3 hour USB drives loading since I expected it to take an hour or so. Of course I had to record the transfer speeds, which ranged from 2 MBs to 5 MBs depending on the individual drive. That put me to bed a little late... a LOT late.
- Got to bed at 11:20, making albums with my Ancher 7-bay USB-3.0 hub. I keep track of the drive letters with the colored signature markers.

Thu Mar 4 = This morning, while researching T-Shirt options I stumbled across something new to me: ring-spun cotton shirts. I learned that they are more luxurious, softer, stronger... and more expensive, compared to T-Shirts made with rotor spun or air-jet spun yarn.
- I can make a big job out of anything. It was a load of whites laundry today with pre-soak etc. But I got them clean without chlorine bleach.
- This afternoon I took a 52-minute nap, planning to stay out late for comedy tonight.
- This evening's trip went like clockwork: LA Fitness gym for a short slow heavy arms workout, Winco for dry-roasted unsalted sunflower seeds & blueberries and Toso's for a salad and comedy show which started at 9:00. I was first up and left early, at 10:00.
- Got to bed at 11:43, getting up to pee at 3:30am, after which had a good three-minutes of JUGGLING practice, with a record of consecutive catches of 30 one-ball tosses, 26 two-ball tosses and 10 three-ball tosses.

Fri Mar 5 = For my trip today I bought a dozen Yoplait yogurts on sale for 29¢ each on sale at Albertson's, gave my van a $5 automatic car wash, picked up 10 8x10 headshots to sell after my comedy shows and did a short slow heavy torso workout at the Anytime Fitness gym.
- My $17.00 single vision glasses arrived today from Zenni Optical, as did the spare power adapter I had ordered for my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
. I'll keep it in my computer bag so I don't have to keep packing up the one I use at my desk here at home.
- Got to bed at 11:11

Sat Mar 6 = This morning, wanting to clean off the little ring in my hall toilet bowl, and looking for a pumice stone, I dug through the stuff in a cardboard apple box under my master bathroom sink. I didn't find the pumice, but I did find some bottles of shampoo, hand soap and several diamond nail files, which had been lost for about 20 years.
- We had a good variety of comedy, rap, music and poetry at the Urban Beans open mic that I host, through the end of March, every Saturday afternoon.
- Producer, actor and makeup artist, Brian Flesher, will be the new host for the open mic starting in April. He has come to most of the Saturday afternoon shows as a scout. Never a performer.
- Two types of Driveway Security Monitor IR motion detecting systems arrived today from Amazon. Their sensors are interchangeable but their receivers are different. The plug-in receiver has a choice of 36 tunes. The battery-operated receiver has only an obnoxious door chime or an alarm. To test things out I have the three sensors in different rooms and the two receivers in different rooms than the sensors. They make moving around my house an interesting experience.
- Got to bed at 10:40

Sun Mar 7 = Today I got my desk straightened and found a web host information sheet I had been looking for, got the kitchen island 100% cleared and wiped clean, so I could use it to...
- get my Merch Display Panel updated and redone, using one panel rather than three panels like my first one. Eliminating the posters and 5x7" headshots helped to achieve that, as well as combining my Flash Drives into a single page as Albums.
Making Lou's Albums
- This evening I went to Fry's armed with a bunch of personalized grocery coupons I got in the mail. My total was $4.65 after saving $6.59 :)
- On the drive I experimented with my new single-vision glasses for distance vision. I can read street signs marginally better but my GPS screen is a little blurry. Bottom line: I'll probably not use the glasses.
- Got to bed at 9:59 :)

Mon Mar 8 = This morning I got my merch box all packed up with T-Shirts and everything needed for the Yuma trip.
- I spent most of the rest of the day organizing and sending out electronic Publicity Kits to five veterans' posts for approval before I have Office Depot ship the expensive physical publicity kits. That included all my shows scheduled through May. Whew!
- Before heading to bed I opened up one of the Driveway Security Monitor IR motion detecting sensors and cut the red wire to the blue LED that lights up when motion is detected. If you ever used the unit at night, the LED would negate all stealthiness. Also the batteries should last longer. The LED did not appear to be part of a voltage control circuit, so the unit still operates.
- Got to bed at 10:14

Tue Mar 9 = Today I attempted to phone several veterans' posts that have not answered my Publicity Kit email. I certainly appreciate the people that have.
- This evening's project was to spend way too much time digitizing the instructions for my two new Driveway Security Monitors as BMP images. The main thing was the challenge: getting small low-contrast booklets digitized and into my Instructions folder as BMP files.
- Got to bed at 10:26

Wed Mar 10 = I am doing a battery test on the Driveway Security Monitor IR motion detecting sensors, need each of the three sensors to have the same amount of use so mounted them on a Home Depot Stirring stick with Plasti-Tac. Now they are easy to reposition as a unit and always facing the same direction.
- I organized my T-Shirt order of about 60 shirts for tomorrow.
- On the way to comedy I stopped by Esporta Fitness Gym for a short slow heavy legs workout.
- At El Charro Hipster's open mic I was number four on the list. I could have had almost any spot I wanted, but #4 is sort of my sweet spot. I worked on my new Yuma bit.
- Got to bed at 10:22, icing my right shoulder blade with which I was experiencing some tension pain this evening.

Thu Mar 11 = I figured out my meals for my weekend trip to Yuma. Instead of just taking food, I am taking mostly already prepared meals, since I will be eating a big supper at the veterans' posts. Breakfast
- This afternoon I got my van pretty well packed up for my comedy trip to Yuma and finished my pre-vacation checklist.
- This evening I stopped by The LA Fitness Moon Valley Gym for a
poster trim
weekly trimming of my beard, eye brows and little quiff so I match my poster photos
, shower and a short slow heavy legs workout.
- Then on to Toso's for some comedy. Bobby Johnson let me open the show with my self-opening routine for Yuma, which was a hit. At the end of my set I introduced Bobby as the official host for the rest of the show. Thanks, Bobby!
- Got to bed at 11:30

Fri Mar 12 = I headed to Yuma about 11am. When I got there I went to the three veterans's posts to say, "Hi" and then to the Yuma Territorial Prison museum for a quick look before they clsed at 5:00.
- At the American Legion Post 56 I got all my stuff set up, they served me a delicious grilled salmon dinner and then I did my show, including opening for myself, for about 56 people. Good show and good audience. My little PA system was more than adequate for their fairly large hall. Yes, I remembered to start ALL five of my recording devices :)
- I spent the night on the west side of their shed where I was able to plug in my heater to take the chill off my van. In the middle of the night I was a little cool under two layers of comforter, added my big towel and turned up the heater a little. The last half I was a little warm.
- Got to bed at 10:28

Sat Mar 13 = After my delicious prepared breakfast (pictured on the right above) I drove over to the VFW Post 1763 and scouted out for my show this evening.
- Then I went to Planet Fitness for a short slow torso workout and headed back to the VFW post to set up all my equipment. I could not find the cube tap and USB power adapter for my camera #1, so figured I'd need to pick up replacements. Since the post had no food, I headed toward a Chick Fil A. Instead of going there, I phoned last night's American Legion and they found my adapters, plugged in where I had left them, so I drove clear accross town to pick them up. Getting back to the VFW did not work very well with a combination of an apparent GPS navigation loop and my mixing up some addresses. I made it back to the VFW post only about ten minutes before show time.
- Lisa, the post manager with whom I had arranged the show, had done a good job putting my posters up but the crowd was dissippointing for me and embarasing for her. No post officers showed up for the event. Only five people stayed for the whole show, while others were in and out for a total audience count of 13 for my 1:04 hour show. This show was the third time I had set up for a video segment but the first time I remembered to use it. The audience seemed to like it.
- Patric, Lisa's fiance was a huge help in packing up my equipment after the show.
- About 9pm I finally made it to Chick Fil-A for their grilled chicken salad.
- I learned to test things like outlets. For the night, the plan was to plug my heater's extension cord into an outlet on the south side of their bulding, but the outlet was dead, so I pulled around to the east side and piled on more covers. The low was 46° F. It turns out that I had a better night's sleep than last night with the heater when the low was 45° F.
- In Yuma I learned that old folks do not like to be out after dark and there probably would have been larger audiences if we had had the shows earlier than 7:00
- Got to bed at 10:58

Sun Mar 14 = I got away from Yuma about 9:00 this morning, eating my oatmeal breakfast (pictured on the left above) and arrived home a little after noon.
- The rest of the day was mostly finance day. It took me forever to pay the $35 balance of my credit union credit card. Their website is generic :( and I mixed up the login information so spent almost a half hour and some phone calls to straighten myself out. :( It reminded me of yesterday when I got the addresses mixed up with my GPS. I might have to start writing things down more to keep them straight.
- Later I got my new T-Shirt order organized and started copying the EaseUS backup file of my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
from one external drive to another, which will take about seven hours, as a test and an off-site backup.
- Got to bed at 11:30 :(

Mon Mar 15 = This morning I met with Denise, the estate gal, at Desert Financial Credit Union and learned that my 2002 trust will need to be completely redone due to changes in Arizona law, so got the process started. She assured me that it could be done before I leave for my tour on the first Wednesday in April.
- The big project today was to figure how to recover files from the EaseUS backup software I have started using... and to take notes because it is not simple or intuitive.
- It took a while for me to redo the generic poster for my Electronic Press Kit. The job including my new image with a T-Shirt and without glasses
- Got to bed at 10:27

Tue Mar 16 = Something new when I ordered $425 worth of new T-Shirts this morning. I had offered my comedian friends the chance for custom Arizona Lou T-shirts. This was an experiment... a successful one, by the way. In addition to my normal navy T's, I had gotten custom orders to include long sleeves, hooded sweatshirt, black, orange, white to be tie-died, deep red and with the logo on the back.
- Here's the hooded sweatshirt with the logo on the back
hoodie
If you ordered a Custom Arizona Lou shirt, they should arrive on Fri 3/26/21. If they do I'll have your shirt for you on: Come, get on the shows and get your shirt. These will be my last local appearances before leaving on tour for four months.
- Yesterday I submitted a correction for the address of VFW Post 1763 to Google. Today I received an email from Google that they accepted my correction and also relocated the map marker to its correct spot - about a quarter mile away :)
- I ordered two publicity kits. Ordering the first one took me 26 minutes. Later, the second one took be a lot less because I squeezed it in before scooting off to Rick Bronson's House of Comedy to be on the show since my name was drawn for one of the three open mic spots for tonight's show.
- It was a fun show with an audience of 46. I recorded my set for possible TV submission so did almost no crowd work.
- The automatic white balance with camera #1 gave an orange disaster due to the blue video background for the stage. We'll see if I can fix it in post processing.
- Got to bed at 10:17

Wed Mar 17 = This morning I got the five media files from last night uploaded.
- Since its hard drive is getting full, with only 22 GB free (2.3%). I need to offload my 2020 show audio and video files. First of all I need to develop a better plan that includes backups, and then implement it. I found that my little 1TB external SSD drive seems to be picky about what type C USB cable to use. Instead of tying up my powerful
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
I'll use my
Alcatel Plus 10
The little 10" Windows 10 computer I bought to get me by in Tobago after my Dell XPS died. It's tight, with only 2gb RAM and a 32gb SSD hard drive, but the 128gb micro SD card I have in it helps a little.
to copy backups between external drives.
- The nearby 99¢ Only store was my friend with lots of over-ripe bananas at 25¢ per pound, compared to their, rather expensive, 59¢ regular price. I stopped there, and also LA Fitness, on my way to comedy.
- I pretty well bombed at El Charro Hipster, talking about my weekend comedy trip to Yuma. No one seemed to appreciate my attempt to insert some funny stuff. Tomorrow night I will include ONLY the funny stuff.
- Got to bed at 11:09

Thu Mar 18 = This morning I got started on my taxes - spent about two hours.
- Dick DeBartolo, Leo LaPorte's Giz Wiz, talked about a neck light, so I researched them and will be ordering several of these to try out and for gifts: Vekkia Rechargeable Neck Book Light - LED Reading Lights with 3 Colors, 9 Brightness Levels, Up to 60 Hrs Lasting, Hands Free for Bookworms, Crafts & Knitting (Blue, Buckle Rope Included)
Neck Light
- I did not have time for a workout, but stopped by LA Fitness for a
poster trim
weekly trimming of my beard, eye brows and little quiff so I match my poster photos
and a shower. I got in a rush and forgot the poster trim, so just took a shower.
- As the first comedian on the show, my Arizona Lou/History bit was a hit at Toso's with the biker comedian audience of 20. Thanks for running a good show, Bobby Johnson!
- Got to bed at 10:54

Fri Mar 19 = This morning I worked on this blog and my website, planned my route for today's big trip and prepared for tonight's comedy appearance.
- About 1:20 I headed to the Signal Butte LA Fitness in east Mesa, ran out of time after a
poster trim
weekly trimming of my beard, eye brows and little quiff so I match my poster photos
and a shower so skipped my planned workout and headed south to
George & Cindy
my younger brother and his wife who live in Mesa, Arizona and have a mountain place in Christopher Creek.
's for a visit to give them a remoteIR motion detector device and a little computer from
Stan
Stanley, my older brother who was a retired as a machinist for Eaton Corporation in Hutchinson, KS until he succumbed to a three-week bout with Myasthenia gravis in March, 2018
's estate as house warmings for their new house. We went out to Panera Bread for a bite to eat where we parted company.
- My next stop was Jarrod's Coffee, Tea & Gallery in downtown Mesa for my second appearance there. I met Jarrod, who set me up with a merch table out on the sidewalk area. Such a guy! The open mic comedy show was out on the patio area between the sidewalk and the street. There were only three comedians: the host, Kristin LaVanway, me and Liz Frisius, in order of appearance. We had no time limit so I took 12 minutes. It was fun riffing with people walking by on the sidewalk and others who were sitting on an adjacent patio. We even talked Mark Hickler (no, not a heckler) into trying stand up comedy for his first time (below). Photo by Liz Frisius
Mark
- On the way home, while I was getting gas at ARCO, I decided it was a good time to clean the bugs from my Yuma trip off the front of my van, since there was good light, a windshield scrubber sponge where it would not make a drippy mess in my garage in the process. Of course then it was a logical time to get my van washed for $5 at an automatic, touchless, car wash on the way home.
- Back here at home, I ordered, for myself, a motion detector like I gave George & Cindy, uploaded the audio from my performance tonight and updated this blog for Thursday.
- Got to bed at 10:52

Sat Mar 20 = This morning I wrote thank you notes to Jarrod at Jarrod's Coffee, Tea & Gallery in Mesa and to
George
younger brother who lives in Mesa, Arizona and has a mountain place up in Christopher Creek
for taking care of the computer backups which contain my life.
- I spent way too much time, detailing yesterday's blog, but that's what I did.
- Urban beans was a good show with a total audience count of 25 and 13 performers which included some rap, a little music and lots of comedy.
- On the way home I ate the supper I had taken with me and did two workouts in one session at the Colonnade LA Fitness: Arms and Torso.
- This evening I updated and redid my emergency cards and have them ready to laminate next time I fire up my ibico laminator.
- Got to bed at 10:33

Sun Mar 21 = First thing after breakfast I started researching wireless remote plug-in controllers. I figured one might come in handy while hosting the show on Saturday at Urban Beans in case some of the comedians decide to not keep it clean, which is the request of the venue. I can discretely turn off the PA system to end their set. Then when I pick up the mic, the PA system will magically turn on again, thanks to the remote control in my pocket.
- Back here at home, I'll be able to use the remote controllers on my stereo and other places where Alexa and my Wemo Smart Plugs are not cooperating. I also ordered four one-pound bags of flax seed meal.
- Got to bed at 10:39

Mon Mar 22 = I got my taxes all done... I thought. But I had forgotten the sale of 1.25 A of desert land from the first of the year, so had to go back and add it. Not an easy task with Tax Act. Tax Act is also expensive - cost me over $135 for their Premier edition, which I needed for my situation.
- I rewarded myself by scheduling a Cessna 172 with a glass cockpit for tomorrow (left).
Garmin 1000 Cessna 172 pannel
- The set of wireless remote plug-in controllers arrived from Amazon this afternoon. Pretty disappointing. Only two out of the five seemed to work correctly. One does not work at all. I arranged to have Amazon send me out a replacement set. I'll keep the two remotes and five controllers that work best and send the others back.
- In the publicity department, I contacted some veterans' posts to confirm some show details and ordered some publicity kits to be sent to the posts.
- Got to bed at 10:37

Tue Mar 23 = This morning's project was to compose an email for my Saturday show, purge the cleaned and unsubscribed entries and send out emails to the remaining 489 Phoenix area people through Mail Chimp. If the typical result holds true, the emails will get between none and three people out for the show.
- From my van I brought in my AXIS Vanguard 132 x 41cm twin-tip kite board and my harness to start wearing and hanging for the next three weeks to develop calluses and avoid blisters when I go kiteboarding on my trip.
- Dave, my flight instructor phoned that the weather was not conducive to a pleasant flight so we rescheduled for Monday. We had a nice visit about airplanes, the Garmin G1000 (pictured above), sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, comedy, etc.
- This afternoon I watched parts of a tutorial video for the Garmin G1000.
- In the publicity department, I contacted some veterans' posts and added three more posters to my Comedy Home Page.
- Got to bed at 10:16 :) - Only had to get up once to pee, a seldom occurance.

Wed Mar 24 = My motion detection scheme for package deliveries did not work. Amazon sneaked through the back gate and put two packages next to the house on the west edge of the patio. Never heard anything from the detectors.
- The packages were both from Amazon: a wireless remote motion detector that plugs in and plays any of 36 tunes and replacements for semi-functional remote control outlets.
- On the way to El Charro Hipster I did my semi-monthly grocery shopping at Winco. I got to El Charro Hipster at 5:00, two hours before the start of the show and was number ten on the list.
- My bit was about bombing last week, COVID vaccine and Saturday's show at Urban Beans... and, of course T-Shirts.
- After working my feet in my AXIS Vanguard 132 x 41cm twin-tip kite board while flossing my teeth, hanging in my harness and doing a few inverted shrugs, I...
- got to bed at 11:08

Thu Mar 25 = In anticipation of being out lat with comedy, I took a 53 minute nap. Also because I was getting drowsy at my computer, but that seems to be every day.
- My T-shirts went missing. The Design-A-Shirt website said it had been delivered, but it was not here. About an hour later it showed up up on my back patio in an unsealed and unaddressed box. I found out later, by a currier.
- I went to LA Fitness gym for a short slow heavy legs workout then on out to Toso's for their Thursday Open Mic. I got there about an hour before show time, set out my merch,
made a special display of the custom T-Shirts ordered,
T-Shirts 1000
had my usual salad, visited with another comedian until a half hour after the show was to start and then came back home. Bobby Johnson the producer didn't tell Toso's about no show. Thanks, Bobby :(
- Got to bed at 10:31

Fri Mar 26 = At noon I took Larry & Dianne Biller (my landscaper) out for lunch at Cracker Barrel. Boy was Cracker Barrel busy! The wait about 40 minutes, but the food was good. We had a delightful visit about everything under the sun, practically.
- This afternoon I got my kitchen counter and table completely cleared off and cleaned and ready for my T-Shirts.
- I updated my show-slip handouts for my road tour to May 8th, 2021 Cutting the slips, six sheets at a time with my Fiskars rotary paper cutter takes a lot of pressure. I came up with the brilliant idea of checking if I had a new cutting blade. I did, installed it and now the cutter needs noticeable less pressure. What do you expect? After all, I have been using that same blade for over seven years.
- I don't like to do it, it is necessary to do three or four times a year and I always feel good after it's done. This evening I got my new order of 65 T-Shirts processed, inventoried and collated. After seven years of T-Shirts I think I finally developed a fairly efficient routine so I wrote it down.
- I got my special order T-Shirts all bagged up and ready for delivery tomorrow at Urban Beans.
T-Shirts 1000
- Just before bedtime, based on this last shipment, I recalculated the profit going to Duet for each T-Shirt I sell.
- Got to bed at 10:35

Sat Mar 27 = The comedians at the Urban Beans open mic this afternoon tried, but didn't do a very good job of roasting me. They were handicapped because the show had to be clean. We DID have 12 performers and a total audience count of 19.
- One gentleman did not try to roast me, which was OK, but started his set by using dick. After he used it several times, I flashed my KEEP IT CLEAN sign at him. He got mad, said I ruined his entire set and stormed off the stage, forgetting his large wrapped visual aid with F*CK in big letters as a token of his attempt. As he got into his car he gave me the finger.
- I felt pretty good that I was able to host the show for all of six months and only have one person get mad at me :)
- I think I set a record for stupidity after the show. I didn't even realize it until 9:20 this evening. I was transferring the show files to my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
and noticed my VIXIA HF R800 camcorder was 112° F while the rest of the things in my camera bag were 85° F. The camcorder did respond to the power button. Checking the camera's SD card, I had put the camcorder away without stopping it from recording so had recorded about four hours of blackness and sound from inside the camera bag. DUH!
- Although I felt a little low on energy, I stopped by LA Fitness gym for a short slow arms workout on the way home.
- Before the show, I discovered the Art for Fun Studio and Gallery in the same shopping center, where I met Andrea Becker who owns the place with her mother, Barbara.
- Got to bed at 10:23

Sun Mar 28 = This afternoon I created a spreadsheet that showed that, at Urban Beans the past six months, I hosted 22 shows with 238 performances and a total audience, including performers,of 390. The spreadsheet does not show that I met a lot of nice people, gained a new appreciation for vegans and even found some of their food very tasty.
- Possible fire recovery of data is important to me. Practically my whole life is on my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
so I back it up regularly and keep the external backup drives in fireproof boxes. In case of a really hot house fire the drives may not survive, so I put the drives in Union 56991 fire resistant pouches I got from Harbor Freight today inside the fireproof boxes. It may not make much difference, but I'll sleep better on my road tour. House fires can reach up to 1500° F near the ceiling so I keep my fireproof boxes on the floor in a closet. The pouches are good for 1,1121500° F for 20 minutes and the Sentry 1100 boxes are good for 1550 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Got to bed at 10:42

Mon Mar 29 = You might say that this was sign day. I took my chasing LED sign (top photo) out of its pouch (bottom photo) and fired it up, trying to figure out how it randomly loses all its programming, going back to its factory default.
Sign
pouches
- It is a royal pain to reprogram the sign, even with the aid of my
XPS
Dell XPS-13 laptop computer with 13.3" touch screen, 60WHr Integrated Battery, Windows 10, Intel 7th Generation Core i7 CPU, 16gb memory and 1TB SSD
. After lots of experimentation, several reprogrammings and time, think I discovered the secret: When unplugging the sign, ALWAYS unplug the power supply from the sign before unplugging the power supply from the electrical outlet.
- Got to bed at 10:20

Tue Mar 30 = It took a while to lay them all out and put them back but, since I had them all stacked by size, I engineered this new picture of each of the 10 sizes of Arizona Lou T-Shirts I offer. I DID forget to add a yard stick that would have shown their actual sizes.

- This afternoon, hopefully to save my sanity in the future, I added Dymo tags to the 120v plug, the power supply and to the back of my LED sign.
- Also I arranged for my cataract surgeon, Dr Josh Duncan, to send a special FAA form for my eyes to my flight surgeon, Dr Burr Ross, and had a video appointment with my PCP Doctor, Louis Hagler, for him to send the information requested by Dr Ross about my DVT/PE nine years ago.

Wed Mar 31 = Today started my official 7-day countdown to leaving on my van on tour.
- Now we are down to LASTs. I already had my LAST semi-monthly shopping trip. This evening was my LAST local stand up comedy appearance before leaving on tour... at El Charro Hipster. On the way I stopped by Esporta Fitness for a short slow heavy legs workout, treated myself to one of my protein frosties and ate a sandwich.
- I delivered my mail pick-up stuff to a neighbor and arranged my yard and house watch through the tour.
