Thu Jun 1 = After breakfast and a little Walmart shopping I drove to JNX (the Johnston Regional Airport) in Smithfield NC.
- Blue Line Aviation there has an awesome flight school. Their primary planes are the Diamond DA-40, all with G-1000 panels. It didn't work out for me to fly one, but that's my new goal. This is the four-place version.
Diamond Airplanje
- I worked in the airport's pilot's lounge until about dark then went to the local Planet Fitness for a quick slow heavy arms workout.
- Then on to a local Walmart for the night. It turned out to be pretty quiet and fair shade in the morning.
- Got to bed at 10:51 for 9:09 of sleep

Fri Jun 2 = After a little grocery shopping at Walmart I drove about 1.5 hours up to PGV (Pitt-Greenville Airport) where I spent most of the day and into the evening.
- The local flight school uses the Diamond DA-40, but of course their one instructor was all booked up for today.
- The front secretary at the general aviation terminal was a real case. She wore wooden-healed shoes that echoed in the halls when she was going about. It sounded like she had the authority of God. In the lafternoon she came and informed me that the whole place would be closing at 6pm. It is amazing how much authority a peon can have. A little later she returned and explained that she had been working there only two weeks and the place would really close at midnight.
- I spent most of the time following up on my bookings for June and collecting some contracts. I need to find a way for a venue contact to treat my email seriously. It would take less than two minutes of their time if they would not put it off. One wasn't their fault, as I misspelled the email address.
- About 8pm I drove down south a little to the Winterville Planet Fitness for a torso workout, finishing my 3-day workout sequence. Of course I got some new fans:
Edward Wooten; Planet Fitness; Winterville NC; 6/2/23
Fan(s) with Lou
Kyle Satterwhite; Planet Fitness; Winterville NC; 6/2/23

- Then on to the nearby Greenville Walmart for the night.
- Got to bed at 12:15am for 8:59 of sleep

Sat Jun 3 = After breakfast and my usual Walmart shopping, I drove up to PGV (the Pitt-Greenville Airport). It seemed it took me forever to add the 5 fans from yesterday.
- At the Walmart I got my first fan who was disabled and got around in a high-tech electric wheelchair.

Here's how the picture looked before I had my phone remove the people and blur the background. Unfortunately, blurring the background removes my quiff.

230603DavidClaiborne - Since it was Saturday I was the only person in the general aviation terminal.
- About 2:30pm I headed out to
OBX
Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks off the coast of North Carolina
and the Kitty Hawk Kites Waves complex. I found that, in my van parked to the south of their parking lot, I could receive pretty good Internet without taking the prime spots for other customers.
- Got to bed at 11:04 for 8:57 of sleep to the west of their "well house."

Sun Jun 4 = It was windy today. That's the good news. The bad news: It was the wrong direction. That ment it was chilly. The only place the NE wind was the right direction was down in Frisco Woods Campground (due to the dogleg in Hatteras Island) and they did not have any wetsuits that I could rent.
- After breakfast I socialized a little at KHK and put my poster on their door. Thanks, Chasity.
- Back in my van I determined which nights I would be staying at the Frisco Campground and booked all eight of them: all the Sunday and Monday nights in June. I didn't get my first choices for spots with morning shade, but got close... closer for the farther out dates.
    - Next was to hed south, putting up posters and saying, "Hi" to my friends along the way. Altogether I eventually put posters up at (north to south):
  1. Kitty Hawk Kites, Waves
  2. Midgett Realty, Avon
  3. Kitty Hawk Kites, Avon
  4. Ride Hatteras, Avon
  5. Breeze Thru Sunoco, Avon (by invitation of Eric, the manager)
  6. Burger Burger, Avon
  7. US Post Office, Avon
  8. Dollar Tree, Avon
  9. Askins Creek BP, Avon
  10. Dillon's Corner, Buxton
  11. Conner's Supermarket, Buxton
  12. Frisco Shopping Center, Frisco
  13. Billy Mitchel Pilot's Lounge, Frisco
- At the airstrip I updated my website before heading down to my reserved campsite. I tried to get to bed early because I need get up early to call Jody at Beach 104 in the morning.
- Got to bed at 10:34 for 7:26 of sleep before my 6am alarm.

Mon Jun 5 = got up before breakfast this morning at 6am and drove the mile up to the Billy Mitchel air strip where I would have Internet and phone reception. I called Jody In The Morning on Beach 104 to plug Tuesday's Comedy-n-Sunset. Then I drove back down to my campsite and slept for another 1.5 hours before having breakfast. The camp spot was fifth on my list but shady until about 9:15am
- I drove back up to to the airstrip terminal and woked on booking. I got a new show scheduled wiith details in one phone call!
  • oThu Jul 6, 2023; 7:00pm; American Legion Post 14; 201 Carlisle St; Hanover, PA 17331
  • - At 2pm I jogged about 1/3 mile to the nearest beach to the campground and lay in the sun for 10 minutes on a side. I was going to do it at my campsite but the ground was covered with thorns. Also the jog out and back was good for me.
    - This evening the Frisco Volunteer Fire Department simulated an aircraft fire here at the airport. They sprayed a bunch of foam. Here's how the parking lot looked at about 9:30pm. The foam was not slippery and had no smell. It took about 15 hours for all the foam to evaporate. Excuse the high resolution picture. It was taken with my cell phone with the flash on and the aid of my headlight in beam mode and then enhanced twice by my phone.

    - Got to bed at 11:24 for 9:02 of sleep

Tue Jun 6 = This morning I officially retired my
    Alcatel
The little Alcatel Plus 10 10" Windows 10 computer I bought to get me by in Tobago in 2017 after my Dell laptop died. It's tight, with only 2gb RAM and a 32gb SSD hard drive, but the 128gb micro SD card I have in it helps.
and removed it and the stuff from my computer bag. It now resides back in my box of comedy stuff as a source of HDMI video for my comedy shows.
    - Sun in the sand and boardwalk run: With a tight schedule, I guess i was too anxious to get out in the sun (thin overcast) so I ran on the Frisco Campground boardwalk 1/3 mile to the beach. When I got there I realized, the reason I felt so free on my run was that I was not carrying my giant custom-made beach towel. There was no time to go back and get the towel so, fir the first time, I lay directly on the sand to sun. Of course that lead to being covered with sand which would not brush off. I ended getting most of the sand off with one of the campground's cold-water showers. Instead of showering gingerly because the water was cold, I used the full force of the handicapped wand. Unfortunately the low flow only got most of the sand off, but not all.
    - My Merchandise Signing at Kitty Hawk Kites went well. Since the store was short of room, they had me use my comedy stool for the display. There was just room for my shirtcase display and nothing else. I sold two t-shirts.
Retail Display at Kitty Hawk Kites, Avon NC, June, 2023

    - Although it was overcast, windy and threatening to rain, tonight's Comedy-n-Sunset show had some of my loyal fans and some of their friends for an audience of seven for 58 minutes of laughing and fun.
    - After the show I noticed two $20 bills under my van's windshield wiper. After I got everything from the show into the van and headed out of course I wanted to use the wipers to wash my windshield. That's when I noticed the bills were gone. I stopped y van and eventually found one of the bills in the area between the windshield and the hood and the other, with the aid of a flashlight, about 30 feet downwind, hiding in the grass.
    - For the night I drove up to Waves and spent the night in the Kitty Hawk Kites parking lot.
    - Got to bed at 12:08am for 8:46 of sleep

Wed Jun 7 = Today I drove to the Idiot Box Comedy Club in Greensboro, NC. While I was hanging around before show time a couple cars drove up. Dusty, who had seen me before ,informed me that the show was tomorrow night, but there was an open mic at Brewer's Kettle in Kernersville, about a 25-minute drive.
    - So away I went. It was a fun open mic with a laughing audience of 22. I sold two T-Shirts including my last 6x T-Shirt, and a sticker, and also had a first:
    - I signed my first breast. It was one of the audience members who did a lot of laughing. Of course she donated to Alzheimer's research in exchange for my "services."
    - For the night I drove to the Kernersville Walmart.
    - Got to bed at 11:51 for 9 hours of sleep

Thu Jun 8 = Today I phoned my medical insurance, United Healthcare, again trying to straighten out the mess with my ENT. Carmin in Dallas wasn't sure but thought maybe prior authorization was required for my visit, but couldn't say why it was not the year before when I had the same thing. She will send it to Clames who will figure it all out and then send the bill to their Balance Billing department, if appropriate, for payment.
    - The rest of the day I drove to a Greensboro Cracker Barrel where I had good morning shade.
    - Got to bed at 12:46am for 9:02 of sleep

Fri Jun 9 = It was a good thing I decided to not work in my van in the Cracker Barrel parking lot, but to head out instead. I drove to an Asheville Planet Fitness for an elliptical, brief heavy slow legs workout, poster trim, a shower and these three new fans:
Cam Kinser, Grace Canady, Luke Warren; Planet Fitness; Asheville NC; 6/9/23
    Fan(s) with Lou

    - There was an accident on I-40. My phone took me on the back roads, which was a beautiful drive to the American Legion Post 47 in Waynesville. Waynesville, with a 2010 populaton of 9,869, is the bigest city in North Carolina west of Asheville.
    - I arrived about 1.25 hours before the show - a little closer than I like to cut it.
    - It was a good show with an audience of 34 who had lots of good things to say about my show. Even the people who insisted on sitting at the bar instead of the comedy area listened and laughed.
    - Trees offered perfect morning shade to the east of their parking lot.
    - It was the coldest night in a month or two; forecast of 49° F. It actually got down to 50° F. Inside my van it got down to 58° F but I was comfy under two layers of comforter - a good call.
    - Got to bed at 12:21am for 8:53 of sleep

Sat Jun 10 = On the way back east on I-40 there was an accident which backed up traffic for miles. It was evidently recent because we had to move to the side to let two fire trucks and EMS by.
    - I spent most of the afternoon in the conference room of Atlantic Aviation at RUD (Raleigh Durham International Airport) doing "paper" work. My main project was to make posters for all my July shows. It was getting late and I did not have time to send them as part of my publicity kits.
    - From the airport I drove about a half hour to the Walmart in Zebulon NC for some shopping, a new fan:
Jesus Gonzalez; Walmart, Zebulon NC; 6/10/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    ... and good morning shade.
    - Got to bed at 12:13am for 9:04 hours of sleep

Sun Jun 11 = Today was mostly driving to
    OBX
Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks off the coast of North Carolina
and the Frisco Campground for the night, stopping for groceries, Comedy-n-Sunset publicity and the air strip to update my blog.
    - I got some fans along the way:
Gerald Byrne; Planet Fitness, Rocky Mount NC; 6/11/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Finley Smith; Food Lion, Avon NC; 6/11/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    - Got to bed at 10:22 for 7:38 of sleep before getting up at 6am to phone Jody on Beach 104.

Mon Jun 12 = Recently I found that all the images on my Smart Stuff web page were missing. I discovered that I had inadvertently moved the Smart Stuff image folder into the Technology image folder. Luckily it only effected my local host and the problem was never seen on my website. I got the problem fixed.
    - Today I added the EPass to the "bargains" section of my Smart Stuff web page. The EZ-Pass - covers tolls in 19 states, with a discount in Florida, using this transponder so you do not have to stop or slow down. The transponder mounts behind (in front of) your inside rear view mirror. There is no monthly fee so you pay only for what you use.

    - Got to bed at 10:48 for 8:48 of sleep before getting up for the day, needing to pee at my Frisco Campsite, D12.

Tue Jun 13 = This morning I paid my first visiot to the Farmer's Market in Avon, where I invited a few people to my show this evening.
    - If everyone came to the Comedy-n-Sunset; show who said they would, there would have been an audience of about 50. Our audience was six - all adults who laughed at just about everything for the 50 minute show.
Olivia, Shawn, Becky & Clare Mulvay; Amanda Morgan & Adam Crawford; Comedy-n-Sunset audience; 6/13/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    - I spent the night up at the Kitty Hawk Kites in Rodanthe on my way to my weekend shows.
    - Got to bed at 10:33 for 9:27 of sleep

Wed Jun 14 = It was a tough decision to leave Waves, NC with a beautiful SW wind, but turned out to be a good one due to a road closure.
    - I spent the night at the Cracker Barrel in Jacksonville NC after some time in a library and Planet Fitness where I got these new fans:
Brook Tefera; Planet Fitness; Jacksonville, NC; 6/14/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
;David Difulvio jr Planet Fitness; Jacksonville, NC; 6/14/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    - Got to bed at 11:46 for 8:59 of sleep

Thu Jun 15 = I did some Walmart shopping, found a new North Carolina gym chain and joined it through RenewActive through United Healthcare and got some new fans before leaving Jacksonville:
Trev Ross, Maria Santiago, Sebastian Thompson & James Thomas; Walmart, Jacksonville NC; 6/14/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Will Jones; Fit 4 Life; Jacksonville NC; 6/15/23

    - On the way to the Calabash American Legion the 4-lane Highway 17 was closed (I think due to a problem with an oversized load) so the traffic was routed through narrow residential streets. What a mess with miles of backup.
    - My misguided Garmin GPS took me to this place on the shores of the Intercostal Waterway near Calabash instead of the American Legion:
    Calabash Shack
    - From there, Google Maps on my phone took me via a winding single lane unpaved road to the post (the back way I later discovered). I arrived just in time to get my merch out and cameras set up before showtime.
    - We had an audience of 32. By the end there were about 22 people left, as some evidently had more important things to do.
    - Got to bed at the post with morning shade at 12:16am for 9 hours of sleep.

Fri Jun 16 = Tonight's show in Boiling Springs (Southport) VFW was a little disappointing with an audience of only two. The young couple at least stayed for the 48.5-minute show.
    - Got to bed at 11:07 for 9:03 of sleep

Sat Jun 17 = This morning I drove to Shallotte, worked out at the Planet Fitness there and got these new fans:
Aaron noble / Cassandra; Planet Fitness, Shallotte NC; 6/17/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Nathan Palmer; Planet Fitness, Shallotte NC; 6/17/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    - It pays to take time to put things in the right place. A month ago I wasted a half day and $30 to locate and replace the micro HDMI cable I thought I had left home in Phone with an adapter and a bulky HDMI cable, not to mention stressing my camcorder #1's micro HDMI socket with the ill-fitting 90° adapter.
    - Tonight was the first time I used my stage lights on the tour and there in their bag was the HDMI cable I thought was in Phoenix.
    - Tonight's comedy show was one of the best, although there was an audience of only nine, including Nathan (pictured above), a new fan I met at Planet Fitness, who brought his girlfriend. Everyone stayed for the entire show
    - The lodge charged a $10 admission. I paid for Nathan and his girlfriend because I had told him that I thought the show was free. I got the money back, because the lodge gave me "the door," which I split with Alzheimer's Research.
    - Got to bed at 11:20 for nine hours of sleep

Sun Jun 18 = Today was a long driving day, for me. I arrived on Hatteras Island in Avon in time to get some groceries at Food Lion and promote my show there and at Canadian Hole and Kite Point.
    - It took me a long time but I caught up with my fans by adding 24 of 'em'.
    - Got to bed at 10:50 for 7 hours of sleep until time to get up early to phone Jody in the morning on Beach 104.

Mon Jun 19 = I got up this morning at 5:50, went up to the airstrip terminal for phone and Internet and phoned Jody In The Morning at Beach 104 multiple times... no one ever answered the phone so I left a voice message announcing my comedy show. I monitored the station until the end of Jody's show at 10am. Nothing about my show. I am sure Jody had a full schedule today for the show.
    - About 2pm I did my Frisco Campground beach sun and boardwalk run, then headed north to tell people about my show and do a little grocery shopping.
    - Eric, the manager of Breeze Thru Sunoco in Avon, invited me to put a poster up there. While there I got these new fans:
;John Hudson Breeze Thru Sunoco, Avon NC; 6/19/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Noelle Castillo, Athen Williams, Anna Smith & Emery Picklesimer; Breeze Thru Sunoco, Avon NC; 6/19/23
    Fan(s) with Lou

    - Most of the rest of the evening I caught up with my blog. It involved several days and a lot of fan pictures. I didn't finish until late and decided to not get up early again to try to phone Jody on Beach 104.
    - Got to bed at 11:29 for 9:01 hours of sleep in camp spot P55.

Tue Jun 20 = The birds around the Frisco Campground aren't too smart. They have a tendency to perch on my rearview mirror and try to flirt with the bird in the reflection of the window. The result is repeated jumpping off the rearview mirror and diving into the window.
    bird
    - At the air strip, first thing this morning I reserved my camping place in the Frisco Campground for next weekend. Surprise, surprize! My favorite spot for morning shade was available both Sunday and Monday.
      - Inspired by my son, I spent too much time researching Thomas Sowell and found these 30 quotes by him. I added these three to LOUISMS.
    - It was overcast and rainy most of the day and I felt sort of silly inviting people to a comedy show that might be rained out.
    - At 2pm I had my merch signing at the Avon Kitty Hawk Kites and sold one T-shirt. Since it was still mostly raining at 4pm, I decided to officially move the show inside to Kitty Hawk Kites, five miles north of Canadian Hole.
    - By 5pm it seemed to be clearing, especially to the west, so I decided to move the show back to its original location. Of course I had to revise my website and Facebook each time I changed the location.
    - At showtime at Canadian Hole it was still misting some. No one ever showed up for the show. I'm glad I didn't set up all my cameras and stuff.
    - While I was waiting for an audience, I made a booking phone call, sent out the contract for a future show and created a poster for a show in August.
    - For the night I drove up to the Kitty Hawk Kites in Waves, headed north for my next show. I was ready to get to bed early but had forgotten to record a shirt I sold at my merch signing. Doing that took a long time. The Square app on my Android phone said I had been logged out due to inactivity and I needed to log back in, which took my password, which hint was in my computer which was tucked away. By the time I did all that, I...
    - Got to bed at 11:34 for 8:56 hours of sleep

Wed Jun 21 = Before I left Kitty Hawk Kites in Waves this morning I wrote a thank you note to mail when I go through Nags Head and a note inviting John Harris of Kitty Hawk Kites to my last Comedy-n-Sunset show on Tuesday, which I will have the Nags Head post office cancel and put directly in the Kitty Hawk P.O. box.
    -
    George
younger brother who lives in Mesa, Arizona
phoned. We had a nice visit while I fixed lunch to eat later, driving north.
    - In Nags Head I stopped by the USPS to mail the two notes and then OBX Sports Club for a legs workout and new fans:
Asa Locklear; Outer Banks Sports Club; Nags Head NC; 6/21/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Elijah Swain; Outer Banks Sports Club; Nags Head NC; 6/21/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Manny Golasa owner of OBX sports club; Nags Head NC; 6/21/23
    Fan(s) with Lou

    - Next stop, to update this blog for yesterday, was at the Baum Older Adult Center in Kill Devil Hills until they closed at 5pm.
    - I put the pedal to the medal and made it up to Fredericksburg VA for the night. I went all around the Walmart parking lot and never found any spot for good morning shade so went on to the Cracker Barrel where I found a fairly good spot. All that trouble did no good because we had overcast skies and a heavy misty rain all night and all Thursday.
    - Got to bed at 11:45 for 9:03 hours of sleep

Thu Jun 22 = This morning I worked in my van parked out of the way in the Cracker Barrel parking lot with fair Internet. I worked on booking contracts.
    - Gold's gym was my next target for an arms workout. It is the largest Golds Gym on the east coast. I got a new fan:
Kiante Dickerson; Golds Gym, Fredericksburg VA;6/22/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    - At a Fredericksburg library it took me 50 minutes to add five fan images to my website. That is an average of ten minutes each :( It would have taken less time if I had not made a couple of mistakes or gotten drowsey. I also did my monthly credit card payoffs, barely on time but later than I like. The library was in a mall and after it closed I sat at a nearby table and updated this blog for yesterday, still having the Internet of the library.
    - Walmart is remodeling their Fredericksburg store. They have special crews come for the operation. They had already redone the landscaping, the bathrooms, cash registers (still without tap-to-pay) and had polished some of the concrete floors.
    - Tonight the crew was repositioning their 30' long, 12' high racks full of merchandise. They used special dollies with casters and ratchet-operated jack screws that lifted the entire rack an inch or so.
    - Got to bed about 11:30 for 9 hours of sleep

Fri Jun 23 = -Recovering from stupidity or forgetfulness, was first on today's agenda - even before breakfast. Yesterday evening I departed my working spot in the mall near the library in a rush because the mall was closing, I forgot to take the stadium pad I sit on to avoid a sore bottom from hard chairs. When I went to the mall first thing the pad was still in the chair where I left it.
    - Next stop was the nearby Fredericksburg Gold's Gym for a torso workout and these new fans:
Blake Hatcher; Golds Gym; Fredericksburg, VA; 6/23/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    Jakob Mercer; Fredericksburg, VA; 6/23/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    Rowland Webb; Fredericksburg, VA; 6/23/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    Orin Mark; Fredericksburg, VA; 6/23/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    - After all that, I drove up to the American Legion Post 48 in Triangle. In spite of all by efforts since February to get things confirmed, and my driving 300 miles to get there, the person in charge did not have the show on their calendar. May, the awesome bartender swung into action and helped make the show for 8pm, after the 7pm BINGO. I revised the time on the poster from 7:00 to 8:00 and Calvin Albers, the finance officer, printed out a bunch which I put up around the post.
    - I spent much of the afternoon working on "paperwork." It took me 16 minutes to add 5 images of fans to my fan webpage, an average of four minutes each.
    - The comedy show started on time, sort of, with my merch out, cameras rolling and an audience of 12. We had a lot of fun.
    - One of the guys bought one of my smallest T-shirts (youth extra small) and challenged Chelsea Falls to get into it. She did, mostly, and became my latest fan. She was a big help with packing my things up:
    - Got to bed at 1:10am for 9 hours of sleep until my 10:10am alarm in a slightly warm van.

    - The previous time I did laundry, since I was washing my royal blue sweatshirt for the first time, I should have used two sheets of Shout Color Catcher, which would have kept my white socks from gaining a slight dark blue tint.
    - This time, since I was washing my hand dyed brown towel, I should have used two sheets of Shout Color Catcher, which would have kept my slightly dark blue socks from gaining a dull brown tinge. The one sheet of Shout Color Catcher did all it could. Although it started out white, it was as dark brown as the brown towel after the load of laundry was finished.
    - After all that, I drove down to the Cracker Barrel south of Chesapeake. Since I forgot to have my treat last night, I had a piece of their Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake. It was dripping with chocolate and included a dip of ice cream, all for $4.99 and about 900 calories.
    - That was my office until they closed. Too bad Cracker Barrel doesn't have more healthful food.
    - Got to bed at 11:34 for 9:01 hours of sleep

    - Got to bed at 10:02 for 7:45 hours of sleep before my 5:45am alarm to Phone Beach 104

Mon Jun 26 = It is important to standardize your files. Today I renamed my folder and all my files seeking a Tonight Show appearance to start with "Fallon." Before they started with "Jimmy," "Tonight," "NBC" or "Fallon."
    - At the Billy Mitchell, in addition to the local manager, I met the Facilities Director who manages projects for the government for the area. They are planning some pretty good improvements for the air strip.
    - BAD NEWS: This Blog webpage stopped showing up on the Internet with a "404 Page not found" error. Never figured out why.
    - I drove about 40 minutes up to Kitty Hawk Kites (KHK) in Waves because the wind was best there.
    - I got a good kiteboarding session in. It took me 51 minutes to go 4.68 miles with a maximum speed of 24.4 mph. It was choppy and the wind gustier than usual with a southwest wind. My 6m kite and AXIS Vanguard 132 x 41cm twin-tip board was a good call, especially because I accidentlly left my 8m kite back in Phoenix, but brought my 15 instead :(
    - I only got off the board once, but that was a Doozy. Trying to get fancy I did a pretty "good" face plant and spent about the next 20 minutes getting back to my board after one of the other kiteboarders helped me locate it.
    - One of the other kiteboarders became my latest fan:
Jermey Gates, Kitesurfer; Kitty Hawk Kites, Waves NC; 6/26/23
    Fan(s) with Lou

    - In spite of having reservations for tonight at the Frisco Campground (40 minutes south), I decided to spend the night at HKH, in case I decide to kiteboard tomorrow morning and also to let my equipment dry out a little overnight before packing it up.
    - After socializing some with some of the young KHK employees via the tail end of a game of Hangman, it got pretty late.
    - Got to bed at 12:29am for 9:01 hours of sleep in my van, rocking in the wind much of the night.

Tue Jun 27 = Although I was parked in the open in the KHK, Waves, parking lot, my van did not heat up since there was a heavy overcast. It was windy from last night. This morning I wanted to kiteboard, but with the problem with my website losing this Blog webpage and all the other things I needed to do, I decided not to. I did get in my
    poster trim
weekly trimming of my beard, eye brows and little quiff so I match my poster photos
a day early and took a warm shower. Thank you, KHK!
    - I drove the 40 minutes down toward the Frisco Campground to get a little sun on the beach but never made it. Billy Mitchell Air Strip pilot's lounge to update this blog page, but never got it to show up on the Internet. Then it was time to go leave for the merchandise signing at KHK Avon.
    - On the way I stopped by all the places where I had put up posters and took the posters down since this evening was my last Comedy-n-Sunset show. A couple of the places no longer had my poster up :(
    - At the signing, I found the best approach was to point out my poster on the door as people came into the store. While there I got acquainted with River, the store manager. Very interesting. She also bought a T-shirt and one of my albums, #2)
    - After the signing, I headed south for the show, stopping by SONOCO and Food Lion
    - At the Breeze Thru SONOCO in Avon I got eight gallons of gas to get me to the COSTCO in Norfolk VA and a new fan:
Cindy Cowie; Breeze Thru SUNOCO, Avon, NC; 6/27/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
    - The show was a good one with a beautiful family fo five for an audience. I did a pretty good job of keeping the show family friendly, although I forgot to use my gym routine.
    - On the way back up to KHK to return my stool I stopeed by Askins Creek BP to wash my van with my favorite automatic carwash: reasonably priced, touchless and with the all-important undercarriage rinse.
    - Got to bed at 10:19 for 9:35 hours of sleep before waking up for my third pee.

Wed Jun 28 = This morning I said, "Goodby" to
    OBX
Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks off the coast of North Carolina
    as I left
    KHK
Kitty Hawk Kites kiteboarding center in Rodanthe, NC.
at 9am, eating breakfast on the way north
    - I stopped by the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center and used their wifi to update my blog and figure out what was wrong with it. Somehow I had added a space (difficult to spot) before the period in the url, so naturally it could not be found.
    - About 3:30pm I left the Baum Senior Center and drove to the Norfolk VA COSTCO to fill up with their cheap, but Top Tier gas. Still more expensive than the major brands that I had passed on my way. You can't win 'em all.
    - I made it to the Walmart in north Salisburg by 8:30 for the night, where I exchanged the $1 cap light (which I use for my bed light to pee at night) for one with a battery compartment screw that will unscrew.
    - From the parking lot there, with Internet, I did some bookings work.
    - Got to bed at 12:27 for 8:37 hours of sleep until needing to do my third pee.

Thu Jun 29 = After a little Walmart shopping, I drove to a nearby mall library. It took a little longer than expected there, but I forwarded unanswered contracts that have been unanswered since June 12th.
    - Then I drove on to the American Legion Post 64, still in Salisbury.
    - The post was very supportive. They helped me set up for the 6pm show. We had an audience of 24 and all stayed for the whole thing. Tom Taylor from PAC 14 the local PBS station videoed the show with two cameras from the rear; one zoomed in and following me and the other one wide angle. I added my two audience cameras to the mix; one zoomed in and the other one wide angle. We will get together Jul 24th so I can watch him edit the videos on his Mac with Final Cut Pro.

    - After the show I sold a T-shirt and got three new fans:
Sam Parsons; American Legion 64; Salisbury, MD; 6/29/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Frank & Amie Morrison; American Legion 64; Salisbury, MD; 6/29/23
    Fan(s) with Lou

    - Got to bed in the post parking lot at 11:16 for 9:04 hours of sleep

Fri Jun 30 = A catastrophic discovery last night. I looked up and noticed the wind cage that I used on the beach for recording the audio of my Comedy-n-Sunset show was not where it belonged.
    Wind Cage
    That meant that I left it on the beach at the Haulover after the show on Tuesday. That also explains why I have not been able to find my Sony ICD-UX560 voice recorder which was in the wind cage;
    voice recorder
    - After breakfast I went to the offices of PAC 14 ,the local PBS station, to give Tom Taylor copies of the videos from my cameras last night. They gave me a desk and let me hang out and work on my stuff until they closed at 5pm. Thanks, guys!
    - After my supper in the PAC 14 parking lot I headed to Planet Fitness for a legs workout and this new fan out in the Planet Fitness parking lot.
Johnny Hojnowski; Planet Fitness, Salisbury MD; 6/30/23
    Fan(s) with Lou
Then on to Walmart to look at some SD cards for my camcorders, some broccoli and three more new fans:
James Proxy, Delia Justvibin, Kinlove; Walmart; Salisbury MD; 6/30/23
    Fan(s) with Lou

    - According to Google, here are the places I went on my travels this month: 37 Cities (10 new) 106 Places (73 new)
    map

    - Got to bed in the Walmart parking lot at 11:15 for nine hours of sleep
