Thu May 1 = The main thing I did in the body department was going to a Nashville LA Fitness for a heavy full-body workout.
- This evening, the Cult Fiction Underground Theatre in Nashville was the most fun yet. With 7.1 laughs per minutes, I had the audience laughing 40% of the time - cool! It was my first time being played off the stage. That is when they start the music to signal you went over your time. I never saw the light (Josh's cell phone) because he was sitting over to the side and was not flashing it whenever I was looking his direction.

Fri May 2 = This morning I drove to a Knoxville YMCA and worked on web stuff, then to Sassy Ann's to do a Maui and airline restroom set. It seemed there were not a whole lot of laughs. Maybe the audience did not relate to my material a whole lot, maybe I need to tweak it more, or maybe I tried to get too much into the five minutes I had so did not have as much interaction with the audience as I like. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the results up on the Past Appearances section of my Comedy web page.
- This evening I ran into a tree, going about 55 mph on I-40. At about 12:30am I saw a big, bushy thing right in front of my van. Rather than swerve, I braced myself and hit it - or ran over it - or went through it. I pulled over about 2 lanes to the emergency parking lane and inspected the result. Some sticks in my grill and... what was left of a string of Christmas lights. Fortunately, there was no noticeable damage.

Sat May 3 = Today was a day off for comedy, as I could not find an open mic in the area. I drove toward Charleston, NC where I'll be appearing on Sunday. On the way I stopped by Asheville and located The Courtyard Gallery for my Monday appearance. It is a good thing, as it appears to be in a nearly deserted factory down by the river. I spent the night in at a Hendersonville, NC Walmart

Sun May 4 = In my van this morning, I caught up on my website & stuff offline, drove Charlotte, located the Ultra Lounge for tonight's performance then to the Dowd YMCA where Becky, at the front desk, gave me a day's pass as her guest. Thanks, Becky! There, I did two online things that had been begging to get done. I researched, downloaded, installed and used the free version of Fremake, which did not disappoint. It is a video downloader, which I used to download my comedy debut, so I'll have it for my website in case they take it off of YouTube. I also did my monthly Blog roll-over - for two months
- My stand-up comedy experience at the Abstract Academy this evening was both unexpected and pleasant. Unexpected: I was the only white guy there. The show was scheduled to start at 8pm but actually got underway at 10:20. They were waiting for Miss Vito, the bartender whose birthday they were going to celebrate. I was the only comic and the show opener with my Old Guy routine. (You can see some details near the bottom of the Past Appearances section of my Comedy web page). It was a great group and we hit it off well. The other acts included erotic poetry, singing or rapping to the accompaniment to CDs or with CDs. They took a few Oreo pictures (me, the white guy in the middle) which may make it to my website. I found that laughing is not so much in their culture as making comments about the comedian when something piques their fancy. The best comment seemed to be, "Alright, alright!" My evening was very interesting. I believe I have some new friends as a result.
- I left the show early and drove to a Gastonia, NC Walmart for the night. This is the same one I stopped at yesterday on my way to Charlotte.

Mon May 5 = I took the day off to catch up on sleep, videos and my website etc., because there was no open mic. I spent the night in Hendersonville, NC.

Tue May 6 = Full day! I spent the morning driving to Charlotte. First stop was to check out the Comedy Zone for tonight's first appearance and then the drive to Jakalope Jack's for tonight's second appearances. Then to the LA Fitness for a shower. By then it was time to head to the Comedy Zone for their Fight Night Comedy Competition. The winner got $100. There were 14 comics. The comedy rounds were three minute, just like boxing, with a bell at the beginning and end of each round.
- At Jakalope Jacks, since the group was a little dead, I tried something I thought of at Asheville on Monday, with another dead group. For the first time, I started out with a lot of laughing. I think it worked. Also it was the first time I had two comedy appearances in one day.
- The Charlotte Police visited my van about 1am tonight. Because a Walmart was not where my Garmin GPS said it was, I had parked out of the way in the Intown Suites parking lot. Probably my arrival after midnight and my maneuvering around to find a good spot which would be shady in the morning, raised the suspicion of the security lady. When the police came knocking, I got dressed and stepped outside. They kindly directed me to the Walmart, a couple blocks east.

Wed May 7 = No open mics tonight so I spent the first part of the day in my van catching up on the analysis of my last three appearances, which result you can see on my Comedy web page. About 3pm I drove to Greensboro and spent most of the evening at a hallway table at the Hayes-Taylor YMCA doing web stuff.
- This evening I started tracking the OBX weather with my weather chart. Spent the night in at a nearby Greensboro Walmart

Thu May 8 = This afternoon, the YMCA at Greensboro was like good news and bad news. Good: I was got a shower; It is close to the Idiot Box where I'll be appearing tonight. Bad: They made me put on longer gym shorts for my workout; they said that someone felt uncomfortable with my
Nano
fourth type of RC micro helicopter: Blade Nano CPx that has a tail rotor, no flybar and true collective positive and negative pitch
at the opposite end of the activity room and I had to quit flying it there; I went to one corner of the basketball court. A lady came and said that they did not want me talking to girls (appx 8 years old) who had asked about the heli, and I could not fly it unless it was pre-approved by the Y director. I had charged up three batteries and needed to use them down to their storage voltage, so finished up the last battery the next morning in a grass area of the Walmart where I spent the night.
- The Idiot Box was a fun, good crowd. Most of the comics visited out front after the show. A congenial group.

Fri May 9 = After analyzing last night's routine, I drove back to Charlotte to Mama's Caribbean. It was a neat group, including two ladies I met at the Abstract Academy on Sunday. I was one of the three comedians (the only White on stage). All the rest of the performers were poets. The feature poet was Ronald Crosswords Hargrave, who kept us entertained for about 30 minutes. Claudette Channer was a gracious host.
- For the night I stayed at a Walmart on the way toward Durham for tomorrow night.

Sat May 10 = This evening's appearance was upstairs at Fishmongers in Durham, NC where they have a little comedy area. It was a good group of about 11.
- I spent the night at a Durham Walmart. The nights are getting warmer, so I am now sleeping on top of my folded queen-sized comforter, under my gigantic towel.

Sun May 11 = Drove to Charlotte, NC and had my second appearance at the Abstract Academy at the Ultralounge. They did not laugh much at my first joke, and I was ready for them. I used my newly invented practice laughing bit. It seemed to do the trick.
- Nearby there is a Goodwill Store like I have never seen. It is an outlet store. Clothing is dumped into about 20 4' x 8' wheeled tubs - no organization. You dig through and put what you want in your rolling bin and pay $1.35 per pound for what you find. Non-clothing items are 50% of the marked price. I bought a Rawlings helmet for $1, minus the chin strap, but the chin strap from one of my Bauer helmets fits. The Rawlings offers better cranial protection than any other I have seen and even has a bill to shade your eyes from the sun.
- I spent the night at a Walmart, in Charlotte on the way toward Asheville, NC

Mon May 12 = I arrived at the old factory building and used their free WIFI at a little desk in the hall area for a couple of hours. Poor excuse but I let my old BOA VISA credit card become delinquent by about a week. I have it set up for auto payment of my Straight Talk phone every 180 days. The charges and due date occurred about the time I was returning from my Maui trip. They graciously reversed the $25 late charge and I immediately paid it off online.
- The courtyard audience numbered about six. We had fun. All the other open mic acts were guitars and singing, except for one guy who read a chapter from his MIAMI book after singing with his guitar. I met Mike McFarland who is the most animated energetic and vibrant guitarist/singer I have ever seen. He gave me his yet-to-be-published a Sarcastic Tango CD for counting the mixed metaphors in one of his songs. What a guy!
- Spent the night at an Asheville Walmart, headed to Raleigh, NC.

Tue May 13 = Sort of a long drive - about four hours at my pace. I arrived in Raleigh, NC about 3:30pm and got my tires rotated at my Four Forks Discount Company there, found a shade tree and worked on my routine for this evening - only three minutes. As usual, I got my routine planned and got the trigger outline typed and printed out.
- The Goodnights Comedy Club had the most congenial and knowledgeable group of comedians yet. It was fun and educational to just to listen to them banter with each other before the show. They ARE comedians, you know. The rule there seems to be show up early and sign up early or you'll be left out! It was a good audience and my set went well. In listening to the recording of my set, there are two things that I should have done - and should have known to do.: 1) hold the mic closer the whole time; 2) keep punching the punch lines to avoid getting into the story-telling mode.
- Comedy summary since tonight concludes this comedy portion of my trip: It took driving 2300 miles and 19 days to cover the 755 miles (1/3 of of the 2300 miles I actually drove) from Memphis, TN to Raleigh, NC., to get in 18 open-mic appearances. It was quite an experience to plan the whole thing and then to make it work. (The only thing that did not work is the Loony Bin in Oklahoma City. They cancelled the shw due to lack of an audience after everyone had already signed up). I met lots of nice people along the way.
- Spent the night at a Walmart on the way to
OBX
Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks off the coast of North Carolina
.

Wed May 14 = Now in beach mode with cargo shorts and a tank top. I arrived on
OBX
Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks off the coast of North Carolina
to a south wind, which is good for up north, where I already was. About 3:30 I kiteboarded for 52 minutes from the old Windmill Point with my 15.7m Epic Renegade Infinity kite and 130 cm Lite Wave Stealth twin-tip board. It was a good little session with a couple other kiteboarders also going out there. The water temperature was 81.6° F on the bottom in knee-deep water, which will be my new standard for measuring water temperatures.

Thu May 15 = Around noon I did a beach sun/run with a pulse of 155. Trying to get enough suntan to not burn - after my 2.5 weeks of comedy and no sun. At 5:00 pm, with a southeast wind, I went out with my 12m Epic Screamer and 130 cm Lite Wave Stealth twin-tip board on the ocean at the Black Pellican (Mile Post 4) up north in Kittyhawk. The surf was low, I got out on my first try and had a good mellow session. It was probably the first time I stayed upwind on the ocean. I was out for 52 minutes.

Fri May 16 = I was the only person at Windmill Point in Nags Head. Maybe it was because there was so much wind (gusting 33mph) and rain. I went out for about a half hour with my 6m Best Nemesis kite on my Naish Custom Fish 5'2" x 17.5" surfboard with no footstraps and booties. I did my second, ever, tethered launch and my first tethered landing, although it did not go as planned. While it was tethered on the landing, the kite drifted too far downwind and powered up, pulling the 50 lb or so cement slab about 10 feet before the kite crashed in the grass. The rope tied around the cement slab almost slipped off. I consider myself lucky that it did not come off and that the kite was not damaged.

Sat May 17 = Fourth day kiting in as many days! I kited before breakfast (rare for me) with quite a group of kiters. My 12m Epic Screamer and 130 cm Lite Wave Stealth twin-tip board were a good call. Got a couple good jumps and then they deteriorated, but I had fun. I think it is all in the timing.
- I spent the rest of the day with comedy, website, gluing the van's driver door weather stripping and a little finance.

Sun May 18 = Pretty good day, considering there was no wind. This morning I got up at 7:30 to use the
KHK
Kitty Hawk Kites kiteboarding center in Rodanthe, NC.
restroom to cut my hairs and then their semi-outdoor shower to get cleaned from the clippings. I had gotten to looking sort of ragged - especially when coming off the water. Now I have the smooth look, which I like.
- I did a beach sun/run south of the Rodanthe Pier where I found a nice wide beach - good for kite launching & landing.
- I checked with Stingray Restaurant about open mic and stand-up comedy. He said they typically have the open mic in the fall, for the locals, like in Sep. I could look for an announcement in the window or word-of-mouth.
- I finally got caught up on
analyzing
seconds laughing, bit laughs, percentage of time laughing, laughs per minute etc.
my last three stand-up comedy appearances. It takes me 20 to 40 minutes for each appearance, depending on how long my set was. The result is up on my Comedy web page.
- I have been organizing ideas for our Walton Family Stand-up Comedy Showcase. I think I'll call it, Walton Superlatives. Also I have been encouraging and helping
Stan
Stanley, my older brother who is a machinist for Eaton Corporation in Hutchinson, KS
prepare to attend the reunion.
- Tonight I spent about an hour trying to resolve my check book. I surely do not have a knack for numbers. Never have.
- Last night I was a little warm under the comfortor so tried my giant towel with a baby comforter over my feet, got a little cool so added my red beach towel and was fine. The low inside my van was 63° F. Last night the low was 64° F.

Mon May 19 = This morning I put a small screw in my weather station mast so it will not rotate. That way it will always show the front of the van as north. This was an easy solution since the extension mechanism is broken.
- This afternoon Glenda from
Duet
The organization through which I take Mildred shopping and take other old people to their doctors' appointments
passed away a day or so ago. Glenda had no details. The way Mildred talked, this is what she wanted. I am richer for having known her.
- The wind was mostly northeast but not as good as expected in Rodanthe or Avon for an ocean run, so I drove down to Frisco Woods Campground, got a $5 day pass and rode. I got on the water about 3:00. Earlier would have been better, but I had fun with my 15.7m Epic Renegade Infinity kite and Naish Custom Fish 5'2" x 17.5" surfboard with no footstraps. I made all but one of my jibes and all but one of my jump starts I practiced on after working my way upwind. I went out to the weather station and measured it a half mile from the shore.
- I met Andy Knutson, team rider for HQ Kites who let me demo his 12m HQ and his personal Lite Wave door of a board.
- Spent the night in Frisco.

Tue May 20 = I was informed this morning by Dwight that it was not a good idea for me to hang around the Billy Mitchell pilot's lounge during the daytime. I am not sure what the deal is, but I intend to respect it, although I am a pilot and certified flight instructor.
- Wind wise, Frisco was a good place to spend the night. Around noon I rode at the Hurricane Isabelle Washout, again with my 15.7m Epic Renegade Infinity kite but with my 130 cm Lite Wave Stealth twin-tip board. It was a good session. I worked my way up to kite-loop jumps followed by kite=loop jump jibes to untwist the lines, all in one sequence.
- This evening, at Frisco Woods Campground I joined Oto and Jenny, from Chapel Hill, for a cookout. This has become sort of an annual tradition for us. Oto is from the Czech Republic, loves to cook and caught the fish earlier in the day. Delicious.
- To round the evening off I organized Comedy at Sunset by the edge of Pamlico Sound. There were 12 of us there. I did my 8:22 minutes, then comedian Derek Posey did his thing. He shakes a lot due to a genetic condition and made good comedy out of it. Thanks, Derek. His dad served as our M.C.
- Spent the night in Hatteras Village.

Wed May 21 = I was so tired tonight I couldn't think straight, so I did not even update anything on my website. Today started with 52-minute ocean run on my Naish Custom Fish 5'2" x 17.5" surfboard with no footstraps, travelling 6.09 miles to cover the 3.6 miles from the museum to the Bath House. I did respectability well, considering I got up on my board and out past the breaking surf on my second try, never got clobbered by a wave and my 8m Best Nemesis never touched the water, although I got off my board numerous ties an had to drag back to it. The ocean shore is a challenge - at least for me
- In the afternoon I joined Tim, from Oklahoma (was from Texas) for a Planet of the Apes run. I was on the same kite and my 130 cm Lite Wave Stealth twin-tip board. The wind decreased to the point that I skipped the dog-leg canal and got stuck in the middle of the cross canal until I got off the board and walked, through the mud, to the upwind side of the canal and continued on. My jumps were puny, even in the slicks.
- After some shopping I joined Bert and Martin (French Canadians) and others around their bonfire at Ride Hatteras in Avon, then turned in for the night there - at 12:01am.

Thu May 22 = Mostly comedy today. I stopped by and visited with Head Ranger, Chris Debrahl and there seems to be no problem with my Comedy at Sunset idea, similar what I did at Frisco Woods Campground two days ago. Also I checked for possible open mic gigs at the Froggy Dog and Open Water Grill. Both may get back to me after they do some checking.
- This evening I probably spent two hours getting my 15 comedy-club thank you notes to print properly. My Sony Vaio computer and portable HP Office Jet 100 seem to not speak the same formatting language. When I'd get something set with one, it was different with the other.

Fri May 23 = I chased the wind from Rodanthe to Kite Point and never got out on the water, although others did in the not-best conditions. I actually put on my sunscreen, got organized and took my equipment out to Kite Point, but decided to lay in the sun instead of kiteboarding.
- This afternoon and evening I mailed the thank you notes, analyzed my Frisco Woods comedy routine, discovered that I need to use the dead cat in even slight wind conditions, changed the batteries in the anemometer of my van's weather station, finished combining the clips, straps etc from four helmets to make one good one (my newer Bauer hockey helmet, made a magnetic stainless steel anemometer index key, mixed up a new batch of garlic mustard and did something kinda fun, which only cost me about $12:
- With Jetti's (the manager) blessing, I bought and stamped two blank thank you notes for each of her eleven Dollar Tree employees. She will give them the notes with the stipulation that they will send both of the notes out to someone in the coming week. It took a few minutes to put the whole thing together, but maybe it will make a positive difference with someone. I also looked up comedian Derek Posey on the Internet and watched a video of his appearance at the Greensboro Comedy Zone. He shakes a lot due to a genetic condition and makes good comedy with it. Tuesday he appeared at my first Comedy at Sunset.
- Spent the night in Avon.

Sat May 24 = I was on the water about 1:15pm from Frisco Woods Camp Ground for a downwinder with Jack, a fairy new kiteboarder. We went 2.6 miles to the Isabelle Wash Out where Danielle (his girlfriend) had taken me to leav my van as a return vehicle. I was on my Naish Custom Fish 5'2" x 17.5" surfboard with booties and no footstraps with my 15.7m Epic Renegade Infinity. I wouldn't have needed my booties, as I made every jibe (first time for that) and all of my jump-up starts (also the first time for that!). Altogether I covered 11.3 miles in 1:41.
- Jack did not fare so well. He got tired, so spent the last part of the downwinder laying on his board and flying the kite with one hand... and walking with the kite in the air. Especially at the last, there was not enough wind for his 12m Cabrinha, but he hung in there and made it! I felt kinda badly that I had encouraged him to do the downwinder, but he was a good sport.
- After the run I hung around the washout parking lot for almost four hours, eating lunch, creating the main part of a small announcement poster for Comedy at Sunset and troubleshooting my weather station and its anemometer. I had to reset both to get them talking to each other. Before leaving the washout I fixed and ate supper.
- I topped off the evening updating my website and downloading graphics for my first Comedy-n-Sunset poster (below). Salvo did not work out: too many misquotes and not enough people.
poster
- Spent the night in Avon.

Sun May 25 = This morning I hung around Ride Hatteras and finished tweaking the final edition of the above poster. I'll plan on putting some of the posters out on Wednesday so Thursday at
SDA
Salvo Day Use Area
will be my official first try. It will be too windy for comedy tomorrow at Canadian Hole, but I'll probably sto by anyway to inform anyone who shows up, that the Comedy-n-Sunset has been cancelled.
- I did a beach sun/run with a resultant pulse of 158 after the 4:03-minute run. then out to Canadian Hole where I spent a few hours in my van massaging the Sassy Ann's comedy video to see if I can get more that 1.5 minutes of it to upload on Youtube. Back at Ride Hatteras' WiFi it took about a half hour to re-upload another version of the video, which resulted in only the first three seconds of the video showing up online. Thanks Google >:(
- Spent the night in Avon

Mon May 26 = This afternoon I demoed a 12m RRD Obsession and a neat Asix 133 x 40 board with channels. Boy, could it go upwind! That, or a similar board might be my next. Maybe it was the channels or the extra length or the extra width, but it surely was sweet.
- Then around supper time I lead Tommy, Sonny, Hayden (Sonny's son) and Mark, their friend on a one-hour downwinder from
SDA
Salvo Day Use Area
to
KHK
Kitty Hawk Kites kiteboarding center in Rodanthe, NC.
on my 130 cm Lite Wave Stealth twin-tip board and 12m Epic Screamer. Had one of my highest jums so far this trip. No wonder. I was really well powered.
- Spent the night way down in Hatteras Village north of the ferry docks.

Tue May 27 = I believe I over did it today. It started on the ocean where I, for the first time, demonstrated that self launching with only three of the four control lines connected to the kite is not a particularly good idea. Once I got out it went pretty well. I made all four (I believe) jibes I attempted, got pulled off my board (no footstraps) a lot, but rode to the beach at The Bath House with style. Three people were cheering for me as I approached. Kathleen told me it made her whole trip, watching me come in like that (fortunately I didn't do a face plant in the sand, but maintained my cool-guy composure). Her husband was also there and her mom, Mary. They let me bend their ears about kiteboarding and took me back to my van, about four miles down the island. Thanks, guys!
- I was a little tired and should have taken a short nap, but headed straight up north for a Planet of the Aes run with Andy Knutson, the HQ kite guy. I took all of the inlets, kited the Planet Slick with all my energy, and started making mistakes.
- The first mistake was when going down the dogleg canal. I got too close to the left edge of the canal and it jumped out and grabbed my board. I was going straight downwind at about 16 mph when the board stopped cold... with my feet in the footstraps. The rest of my body continued at approximately 16 mph until my face was firmly positioned down in the muck and the mud and my kite crashed in the water on the other side of the canal. It didn't take too long to get the kite relaunched - no damage, excpt for an abrasion on my right forearm and a tweaked neck.
- The second mistake was way back in my favorite Grass-Island Dead-End Canal. I missed the jibe and the kite crashed in the grass on the downwind shore. I mucked to the edge of the upwind side of the canal so the kite was now floating in the water at the opposite edge of the canal... with no wind for a relaunch. I played with the kite for about eight minutes and finally got it to relaunch. Once it was up in the wind, everything went well and I headed on to our destination,
KHK
Kitty Hawk Kites kiteboarding center in Rodanthe, NC.
. I was on my 130 cm Lite Wave Stealth twin-tip board and 8m Best Nemesis kite
- After all that I found, reset and showed Christ Moore the breaker for the showers' hot water heater, labeled the pipes and took a shower.
- Doctored my arm and spent the night in Avon, feeling kinda low.

Wed May 28 = Today was publicity for Comedy-n-Sunset and for rejuvenating my body. I didn't want to stress it, but DID want some exercise to get my blood flowing so did a short (two-minute) beach run with a pulse of 125. I also put out 8.5 x 11 posters for the Comedy-n-Sunset and worked on the routine for tomorrow at
SDA
Salvo Day Use Area
.
- Spent the night in Rodanthe.

Thu 5/29 = Not much wind today, so still taking it easy to rejuvenate from Tuesday's rides. I hung around the first turnout north of Avon (my GPS waypoint HANOR1), did a sun/run there and wrote and mailed a thank you note to Food Lion for a student employee who helped me Tuesday. He gave me some ice from the Fish Market for my neck. I handed the letter to Marjorie at the Avon Post Office, she cancelled the stamp on the spot and put it in Food Lion's P.O. Box. Probably the quickest mail delivery in history - just a couple of minutes. Thanks, Marjorie!
- I found some French speakers from Quebec who helped me with some terminology so that my comedy routine would, hopefully, be funny to both English and French speakers.
- Around 4:30 I headed out to
SDA
Salvo Day Use Area
to make the final preparations for this evening's Comedy-n-Sunset. I saw Matthew and John Paul, who have switched from
HISS
Barton's Hatteras Island Sail Shop, Waves, NC
to SDA as their preferred windsurfing location - more space.
- This was the debut of stand-up comedy in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It was also my smallest audience yet - four - and those four just happened by. There was Nick, who attempted a short comedy session (Yea, Nick!), his wife, her brother and Adam who had just found his lost GoPro camera on the bottom of the sound. None of the people who I had personally invited and said they would be there came and no one from seeing my little posters. Although the group was small, we had fun and laughed a lot (61 times and 19% of my 8:4-minute set). It was not windy, was overcast so there was no sunset, but we had fun.
- Spent the night in Rodanthe.

Fri May 30 = Little wind for kiteboarding today, so I spent most of the day working in my van. Didn't even move it until 6:30pm. I analyzed last night's
SDA
Salvo Day Use Area
comedy routine, watched comedian Mike Birbiglia, comedian on YouTube, popped the bladder in my GoJo so gave the GoJo to
KHK

, downloaded information for 12 possible open mic comedy stops on the way to and from our family reunion in Michigan later this month, fixed and ate meals and was invaded by Québécois - Mathieu and Dan Cormier and their friend, Carl - all from Quebec. Toward evening I did some shopping and joined them and their families at their large rental house in Avon. It is cool to meet up with my Canadian friends.
- Spent the night in Avon at the Cormier's.

Sat May 31 = I drove down to Frisco Woods Camp Ground and did a 2.6-mile downwinder from there to the Hurricane Isabelle Wash-Out with my friend, Jeff Biehler from Buffalo. We were both on surf boards, me without foot straps. When we arrived at the Washout, Jeff wanted to keep riding and offered me a couple of his boards to try. I rode his 5'8" Slingshot Celeritas and found the bigger surf board easier to ride than my own. Then I tried his 141 cm Naish Thorn (no concave) and had some fun with it. In all cases I used my 8m Best Nemesis.
